Review:A very interesting, exciting story of the Dark Knight and his sidekick. Very well written, nicely drawn, and brutal. In this one the Boy Wonder, Robin faces Batman's darkest enemy, the Joker, and he might not be able to win against him. It's a true classic, I highly recommend to those who love Batman at his best. Review:My friends have been telling me about this for years but I never really paid attention to them but when I got amazon and saw this in my recommended I said "why not" it was a sound investment. Would buy again. Read more
Review:I was pretty disillusioned after TDKSA, so I didn't have very high expectations going into this one. I really was pleasantly surprised (with a small exception) by this book. I liked that I was able to follow the plot without any research, since it's been a while since I was caught up with my comic reading, and I liked the team-up aspects. I loved seeing the characters which so defined my early life (Atom! Hal!) and reading about them doing what they do best. I assumed it would be a set up a... Read more
Review:Hush is such a great villain in my perspective and he just provides a certain side to the Batman universe that is needed. Since it was his first appearance it showed people a new villain that can make Batman actually afraid of what he does. Read more
Review:"Batman: Under the Hood, Volume 2" collects the concluding installments of the initial "Red Hood" storyline that originally appeared in the ongoing "Batman" comic book series (Batman #'s 645-650, to be specific), as well as a lengthy "Batman Annual" that reveals in detail how the Red Hood and his supposedly deceased alter ego came to be.
Like the first volume of this storyline, this one contains solid, entertaining superhero storytelling, no more and no less. I will say that it was a lit... Read more
Review:First off, according to what I've read - This was written BEFORE Dark Knight. This isn't some kind of tie-in, although the use of the scars as a smile make it seem so.
This book is proof that Azzarello has a truly amazing, unique take on Batman's world, continuing his treatment after his brilliant Broken City arc (a must read for Batman fans) This one was written outside of normal continuity though, which for non-geeks means that it's not the "normal" Batman world, its a unique adaptatio... Review:I read this nearly a year ago back in January and it still left a strong impression on my mind. I can only compare to this to George Orwell’s 1984. It is a 1984 with a superhero, if V could be called that. Originally written in the 1980s it is a story about a future England in 1997 and 1998 in which the government has become tyrannical and authoritarian with a sole dictator on top who is obsessed with his computer dictating to him things by chance. As powerful and smart as those within gover... Read more
Review:Well I bought it so I could find out what the movie would be about. I haven't finished it yet because it is so long. The story seems pretty good so far and the pictures are very expertly drawn. Can't wait for the movie to come out. Read more
Review:Since this is the second volume of this ongoing comic series, I knew more of what to expect. But just as the first volume did, this volume started out in a very interesting place and then just meandered along with the story. I have definitely found that I like event miniseries more than just this continuing story. Hopefully that means I'll love Vader Down, which is a crossover event with the other ongoing series, Star Wars.
This volume begins with Darth Vader at the remains of the Lars ho... Read more
