Thrillers & Suspense
Review:Superb! A vision of the future of a future where humans are still very human but reality is well..... Peripheral!
So many ideas, down to earth yet soaring. From the hillbilly trailer down by the creek to the baroque RV of a strangely Victorian London future, a great engrossing tale.
Couldn't put it down.
Gibson is still the King! Read more
Review:I never realized so much happened between 1650 and 1715: the scientific enlightenment, the confused succession of British monarchs, the reign of Louis 14th, the creation of banks, insurance and much more. Stephenson presented all this in a masterful way. Read more
Review:This was the first Domino Finn book I've read and I loved it! It was packed with action and captured my attention from the first page. The only pauses in action were to fill the reader in on background details and history which were very complex with the main character, Cisco, waking up from being dead and trying to find out what happened to him. I also enjoyed how it felt like Cisco was talking to you and taking you along on the wild ride through Miami. Read more
Review:I don't normally write reviews. It seems that we all have our prejudices and tendencies that effect our opinion. Most often reviews wreck books that someone might enjoy. But this book is so bad people need to know not to waste their time. The plot is so simple minded and is telegraphed at every turn the crafting of dialogue and descriptive narrative is so juvenile it's unreadable. I read the whole book because I was intrigued just how bad it could get. This book got as bad as feared. Don't wast... Read more
Review:I've always thought that if you have 5 or more authors writing a book - it will make it fast paced... exciting... gripping ... unpredictable BUT this book -as a lot of the other reviewers say - SLOW and PREDICTABLE.
I've read all of Sandra Brown's work ( adore her ! ) and this one .... let's just say - she should just stick to writing by herself. Read more
Review:David Baldacci has always been a winner. I have purchased and read ALL his books but True Blue had so many unbelievable situations, I found myself saying, "yeah, right" with each one. Playing basketball with a killer in order to escape was just one example, but there were others. If this had been advertised as a fairytale, it might have worked but not for an adult reader. The two sisters were likeable characters and the young lawyer was o.k. but the feats of stupidity boggled the mind. C'mon... Read more
Review:I like this kind of story but I didn't expect it from this author. I thought for the price, there would be more substance and a typical story line. I think I'll have to get samples before I buy another from him. Read more
Review:At last a REAL Baldacci book.
If only some of his other novels worked as well as this
The Camel Club? What a joke! The equivalent of the Avengers in print!
PLEASE more books in the likeness of John Fiske and John Robie , a nice tight plot and a joy to read.
I will look forward to the new Robie book out soon. I hope it succeeds where others have disappointedly failed ie Bullseye Read more
Review:This story and its characters will blow you away. Piper’s writing is phenomenal. I love the ways in which she tells a story and brings the characters in this book to life. I’m so looking forward to the next book in the series. ♥️ Read more
Review:I love this series.
If you like fantasy books (Lord of the Rings, The Wheel of Time, the Mistborn Trilogy, etc), I would strongly recommend reading this series. It has a very interesting (and different) system of magic, is well written and edited, and has a plot that kept me engaged throughout. I hate writing spoilers, so I will leave my comment at that.
I'm excited for the final two books in the series. Read more
