Review:A story of horror for a girl growing up mistreated and sexually abused, you feel her pain was eagerly reading to find out her fate. I am very happy she found her way, and peace. Unfortunately for he was nd of the book was a great big smack in the face advertisement for God, As a n atheist this bummed me out, I an happy that people get comfort from religion, but you can overcome anything w without calling on "God', so 3 stars as she's happy but has not resolved real life Read more
Review:“Quiet Strength” is a wonderfully written book by Tony Dungy who is the first African American coach to win a super bowl. Dungy speaks of what it took for him to overcome adversity to battle through and accomplish the unthinkable.
Dungy does an unbelievable job of expressing his feelings and emotions describing his upbringing and the amount of adversity he had to face. The thing I love most about this book is how Dungy was calm throughout the challenges that he faced for right and wrong. I f... Read more

Review:This was interesting but was not what i expected from the title. I have never read any books by Kidd but she was recommended by serveral people. I think that women who are in an oppressive state in their own faith communities can benefit from this book. It looks at why we allow oppression. There were pearls in the book that i will take with me, but the last section left me a little so so. Her journey leads to a spiritual status that seems to leave off everything but herself. Like it is all... Read more
Review:I may be writing this review a little prematurely, as I am only halfway through this book, however...I have already purchased additional copies for my friends. Review:Tal Gur in two words: intimidatingly cool.
The Art of Fully Living is a blend of memoir and self-improvement manual. Tal gave himself 100 goals and ten years to complete them, and his book not only chronicles his successes, but also shares the techniques he used to overcome the failures. Each chapter focuses on a single year – the Year of Socializing, the Year of Freedom, and so on – and follows his journey from Israel to Australia to New Zealand to South America and just about everywhere... Review:This book is described as one that "changes lives," which seems like a pretty big claim. Having read this book for probably the fifth time since it was given to me in 2000, I have to agree. It is inspirational, challenging, and something that everyone can benefit from reading. It can be a little metaphysical at parts, but the key message of happiness is what stands out the most. I love this book and will definitely continue reading it whenever I catch myself being anything other than unreasonabl... Read more
