Review:I certainly enjoyed this book and recommend it to anyone that enjoys a good detective type of novel. However, this is not a typical approach to that type of story. Review:Very interesting turn of events. The ending left me hanging and wanting more. So many new questions that are left to be answered. I hope Young and Alexa can finally get it together and be a couple. The chemistry is there and they both are crazy about each other...however the fight between the two was crazy. Review:This is classic Twain. It is hilarious. If you want some entertaining reading, this is a great choice for a medium length introduction to Mark Twain. The "negro dialect" is easy to read once you get the hang of it. You do need to get past the use of the "n word" though as in many of the writings from that period. Review:As usual Walter Mosley does it again. Great!!! I grew up in LA and recognize all the areas he talks about in the book. I would love to see Denzel play Easy again in any of the books made into a movie. Good as usual. Can't wait for the next one. Read more
Review:Mosley continues to take you deep inside an LA that was largely invisible to the greater society - in this case, the black community of the 1960s. His Easy Rawlins series provides so much insight into the development of LA that it ought to be cross-referenced under sociology. Read more

Review:Historical fiction written with the highest level of skill. Horrifying? Yes. The characters will never leave you.
Anyone who thinks this degree of inhumanity, sadism, sexual abuse, and torture by whites to blacks was limited to places like Jamaica, Haiti, or Cuba is a fool with their head in the sand. Read this book to get a glimpse of our own despicable history.
