Exploring Lifespan Development (3rd Edition) (Berk
Exploring Lifespan Development (3rd Edition) (Berk

Review:Book was in great quality, however, I do not suggest this for people who are clumsy. I personally have been destroying this book due to the pages being loose leaf. Even though I have it set up in a large binder, I have been ripping pages out left and right by simply leaning on it. Read more

A Seperate Reality; Further Conversations with Don Juan
A Seperate Reality; Further Conversations with Don Juan

Review:I await the next audiotapes by Peter Coyote on the Castaneda writings. I found his style of speaking perfect for how I image the conversations of Don Juan and Carlos. I rated the tape a number 8 because of the abrupt ending of the tape. I had to replay it twice to be sure that the tape wasn't damage. Also, It would be nice if the whole book was narrated, instead of the abridged portion of it. Read more

A Raisin in the Sun (Modern Plays)

Review:See at first I truly thought that this was simply another boring book, you know the kind that you get tired of reading. But as I began to read it I realized it was more of a play. The ply is based on real world situations and I as a teenager do und it to be very good and somewhat outstanding.
To those who enjoy role play or acting this is the book for you nd believe me it was worth the money. The characters were believable and once you pick up the book you simply do not want to put it down...... Read more

Fences
Fences

Review:"Fences" has become an undisputed classic of American theater. One of the famous "Pittsburgh Cycle" plays by August Wilson, it focuses on a slice of African-American life in a particular decade. The yard of Troy Maxson, set somewhere in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, sets the scene. The year is 1957, a time when some opportunities begin opening up for African-Americans - at least in some parts of the country. Racial tensions still raged throughout the US, especially in the south. In that same year, s... Read more

Practical Guide for Improving Communication - Men Are from Mars
Practical Guide for Improving Communication - Men Are from Mars

Review:This is the best book there is on understanding men and women, imho. In a very simple way the author shows just how different men and women think, percieve infomration coming from the opposite sex, explain why and what would be a better approach. Plain and simple, soooooo to the root cause and point!
He gives a situation, for example, something being said, then shows how the man hears it and how the woman hears it. When i'd read the man's side I'd be thinking hmm this is weird, but then I'd r... Read more

How to Learn Any Language Fast and Never Forget It
How to Learn Any Language Fast and Never Forget It

Review:I've been struggling with Russian for about 4 years now. Started learning it during high school by writing down word lists I wanted to know, reading an old textbook I bought online. LingQ gave me some good success, Assimil too, but I was still pretty far from being anywhere notable. I read this book and used its methods for about 6 months, and with the magic of flashcards I was able to really focus on the areas in which I was lacking. Anywho, I decided to sign up for a Russian class at my univer... Read more

Confessions of Punk Rock's Most Infamous Anarchist Sellout

Review:I really enjoyed this book as a long time Against Me! fan. It is a fast, insightful, and entertaining read. It offers a mix of old journal entries and prose to give a surprisingly insightful and detailed look into busy and complicated life in relatively few words. I would recommend this book for fans of against me! there are tons of great stories from Laura's time on the road. I also really found myself relating to the book as a women who loves punk rock and a women in general. Laura shares... Read more

Privilege, Power, and Difference
Privilege, Power, and Difference

Review:As an instructor working in the Humanities, finding non-threatening ways to talk about privilege, whiteness, and/or racism is very challenging. As I read the negative reviews, I am even more aware of how difficult it is to get these ideas across without being accused of self-hatred, etc. In an effort to encourage positive self reflection on these complex issues, I have read many of the foundation works Dr. Johnson mentions. His recapituation of these ideas is indeed gentle. One of the best thin... Read more

Civilization and Its Discontents
Civilization and Its Discontents

Review:As a behavioral psychologist, I found this book interesting from an historical perspective. Although there is little hard research in what was discussed, the fact that the problems of love and aggression still plague us is undeniable. For this historical discussion, this book is most valuable. Read more
