Practical Guide for Improving Communication - Men Are from Mars

This is the best book there is on understanding men and women, imho. In a very simple way the author shows just how different men and women think, percieve infomration coming from the opposite sex, explain why and what would be a better approach. Plain and simple, soooooo to the root cause and point!
He gives a situation, for example, something being said, then shows how the man hears it and how the woman hears it. When i'd read the man's side I'd be thinking hmm this is weird, but then I'd read the woman's side and go omg yes that's how i see it. Every single time. Some of my male friends and my bf read the book and confirmed the guy's side is covered spot on as well.
Bottom line, I recomment this book to both, men and women, single/dating/married, and I think it should be read by everyone wihtout exception, whether you think you need it or not. Believe me, you will have so many aha moments thoughout the book you'll be tired of thinking damn, now I get it.
It helped me understand men so much better, be it my bf, dad, brother, guys around me, which meant no more fights over stuff I now realize happens simply because its just how they are and how I percieve things differently from guys' perspective, far less misunderstandings and fallouts for same reasons. I don't get tired of recommending this book to my friends.

My favorite relationship book of all time! I have the hardcover softcover and now the digital book. It is my go to book when I am feeling confused and want answers to my questions about male female connecting and communicating . It seems old fashioned. But his theories are spot on!! Read it with an open mind and apply them to your relationships even if it does not feel natural ! It will become natural and it speaks the language of your partner in ways they understand! It works!!

Priceless insights into the differences between men and women, highly recommended to all, in or out of a relationship. A bit "chewy" in places, repeating the same thing many times, but that's a minor problem. Changed my view of the world!

People will criticize John Gray's low value Ph.D., but there is some value to reading this book regardless. A worthwhile read but remember it's just one person's informed opinion and won't apply to all relationships. Seems a bit lopsided against women in parts. I (a guy) found it most interesting for its descriptions of male behavior. There are some parts that describe me well and I could envision giving this to a woman I was in a relationship with (not a normal situation... less of a priority for me it seems) so she could get some insight into me.

A great book, some very useful advice on understanding how men and women are different. I especially like the section on how women begin a home improvement committee, once they are in a committed relationship where they feel comfortable. You definitely can't go wrong with this book, even if you just get a few things from it, those few things could change your life for the better.

I already purchased the book, the book is not bad and honestly it carry many useful advises for relationship, but really it's very very Lengthy, the author have about 13 advises, each one of them takes 10 pages ! 10 pages he is saying the same point, at the beginning he mention the point clearly, them he give an example in a conversation, then he repeats the point by other workings, then he say some sentence as the man or woman saying to illustrate the same point again !!!

Honestly I see it very boring the author probably shorten the book in 20 pages MAXIMUM instead of 170 pages.

Extremely insightful and helpful.
This should be mandatory reading or listening right after the 1st year of marriage (honeymoon period) or sooner. But no matter when it's read it will help your marriage get back on track and provide tools and insight to keep it strong. This book will help you build the love that can move mountains. Highly recommend to the spouse that works 50 plus hours per week
