Review:I have the Large Print paperback version. I want to clarify that in case anyone is considering purchase for easier reading for vision impaired (although this book is excellent for anyone). The book is printed in a easy to read large font on a nice quality paper. That helps also because when you can't see it is sometimes hard to grip the paper if it is thin in your fingers and not rip it or skip over a page. There are pictures of each criminal for each of the 12 cases too. You get a brief introdu... Read more
Review:Well-written and intense but so intimate - as if you’ve somehow always known Ariel. It’s a love letter to life that - like many great love stories - dances round and ultimately ends in the land of “what could have been.” I hung on nearly every word, highlighted passage after beautiful passage and wanted to weep with the raw realness of it all. Bravo for one of the most authentic memoirs I’ve read in a long time. Read more
Review:Yvon Chouinard began his foray into business as a way to create a product for himself and his climbing colleagues. His desire to life an unconventional lifestyle, along with his mother's philanthropic influence, led him to create what Patagonia is today: a socially responsible business that makes high quality products while tending to the environment and its employees. Chouinard believes in his people and they in turn trust him.
Author, "Trust is Everything: Become the leader others wi... Read more
Review:Fascinating story of the excessive culture of Wall Street.
Turney Duff was a hugely successful trader until it all came crashing down as he sunk further and further into his addiction.
His redemption and his great writing ability make this a great read. Read more
Review:Have read Abraham Verghese's novel Cutting for Stone and so enjoyed the read. Amazon suggested My Own Country by the same author. What was interesting was that Dr. Verghese moved to the smoky mountains of Tennessewe in the 80's to work at a local hospital. His specialty is infectious disease. The doctor loves the area and its people, feeling that it is a good place to raise a family. Also one of the first Aids case appears. Wonderful follow up to his first book. Read more
Review:Worth reading. Good look into dynamics of addiction and impact on those around the user. Verghese is an engaging author and captures the attention of the reader quickly. While not light, the issues he tackles are real. Read more
Review:Dinner with Edward by Isabel Vincent exceeded my expectations in some ways. In others, it pole-vaulted over them. I give it my highest praise for a book that celebrates food, friendship and family: my New Yorker Father, the chef, would have loved this story.
About that: Dinner with Edward is not a novel but a memoir, so the female main character is also the author. I didn't realize this fact until after I finished the story and did a little research. Until that point a part of me wondered... Read more

Review:Short book, very fast read. Obviously a brilliant guy. Equally obviously out there where the buses don't run : )
Raging egotist, and honestly, rightfully so. Book is a very biased look into the mind of one of the great inventors of all time. Growing up, we never read about him in history class, Maybe he was too quirky?
The book could use the services of a good editor.
Glad I bought it. Glad I read it. Informative in many ways-positive and negative,
Now off to read 'Empires of Light' ... Read more
Review:Katharine Graham's book is a useful study of life in Washington and the Washington Post. This is a very nice audio version of the book. For those who haven't the time to read, or have vision limitations, this is a very good substitute for the book. Read more
