Review:"Little Altars Everywhere" is the story of four siblings growing up on a Louisiana plantation. The book is divided in two parts: the first part takes place in the 1960s and the second part is set in the 1990s. In the first half of the book, the Walker family appears to be a little quirky, but also a lot of fun. Vivi Walker and her "Ya-Ya" friends can be crazy at times, but all the children adore them. Siddalee runs away briefly one night as a young girl, Lulu has a small shoplifting habit, and o... Read more
Review:The first novel was magnificent. The second one was pretty good. This one is not worth your money. Wells is trying far too hard to make the characters funny and touching in this book. It comes off trite and cheesy, especially the last story, which is positively smarmy.
The portrayal of African-Americans in this book is borderline racist and stereotyped. Southern black people are not half-wits. I half expected one of the black characters to bust out with a "Mo' biscuits, mastah?"

Review:The premise of the story was different but the characters lives were too contrived. Lucky every one got better before their time was up. Read more

Review:This was a nice love story between two likable characters that are really good together and complement each other. They had their struggles as most couples do. Megan had some insecurities to work through and Alex was a very pulled together man that everybody loved but deep down he had some thing troubling him that he had never shared with anyone. I liked that they communicated, although Alex to give Megan a nudge a few times. Alex was generous and incredibly thoughtful and they just really c... Read more
