Review:After I started reading this book, I began asking myself, "Why did I buy this?" It was violent both physically and psychologically, not at all my kind of reading. I think it was suggested to me in an ad that appeared on my Kindle. Usually, these ads are apropos (based on my buying preferences) and I have discovered some great books by paying attention to the Kindle suggestions. But how I ended up with this book remains a mystery. This frightening and anxiety-provoking novel was just too "ic... Read more
Review:My Father's Best Friend. This book was amazing! It was filled with joy as well as sadness and it also pulled at your heart. I was captivated from the beginning and couldn't put it down. The surprise on their faces when Lanie realizes Andrew was friends with her dad. Tragedy comes with a price as well. It read so much like a real life romance story. This is a must read book! *** I voluntarily read a Review Copy of this book. All opinions stated are solely my own and no one else’s. *** Read more
Review:This is drool-worthy stuff, here. I mean, there isn’t much missing from this delectable work with its hot-as-a-forest-fire-in-May Ranger, as well as the smart and sassy professor that loves the outdoors but loves that Ranger even more. The smokin’ Ranger, Caleb, has some serious demons from his childhood he’s been wrestling with but still maintains that knight in shining armor status whether he’s aware of it or not. Meanwhile there’s some shady business going on in the hills, and a smarmy Dea... Read more

Review:LANDLINE
4.95 STARS
I just can't bring myself to give this book a full 5 stars for two reasons.
1)A few tiny details bothered me.
2)I know this is really bad.... but I didn't like it as much as Fangirl. I'm not really comparing, I just think that they deserve even a minuscule difference in the ratings because I don't feel the same way about Landline as Fangirl.... but I still really loved it.... I'm about to tell you why.....just be patient.
Okay, so I've read all 4 of Rainbow... Read more
Review:Not necessarily an easy read, but a worthwhile one - the market is full of WWII books, but not nearly so many WWI books - and not so many that are written quite as well as this one. WHile some of the plot twists and turns are seen so far away as to be visible from 30,000 feet - gee, I wonder if [thing the Lord refuses to do] will direct and tragically affect [lower-class person]? - that doesn't make them any less realistic or interesting. I didn't give the book five stars only because so much of... Read more
Review:Any book that makes me cry while riding on the NYC subway deserves the description of touching.
In a few short pages, the author sets up a story of three women in transition. Family dynamics, career challenges, and geographical choices all play a role. It is well written and satisfying.
The reasons I didn't give it 5 stars are:
- it is too short
- I wanted a little more depth on the women's relationships with their husbands
- I wanted a little more consistency about the ... Read more
Review:Ms Stewart did such an amazing job with all the details and the storyline. I could see the old mohair couch. I want to go find St Dennis and eat the ice cream. This is a great book for anyone who wants to get away in a book. Go to St Dennis! I know I am going to be buying her other books so I can go back.
Ellis/Ellie Chapman had everything she could ever want. She grew up with a silver spoon in her mouth. She worked for her father's company and was engaged to be married, she had it all. ... Read more
Review:This was a nice romance, just not very complex. It was fairly contrived that Tyler would pine away for 17 years, just hoping that his high school crush, Alexis, would show up one day. When she does show up, a recent widow, it was fairly obvious how it was all going to end happily. Still, I enjoyed the book, even though I prefer a little more depth to a story. Read more
Review:Gregory ends the novel with a little bit of information about Margaret, taking time to note specifically that little has been documented in terms of her life aside from broad strokes. I knew this already going in, but Gregory's writing betrays this fact as well. There are a couple of unfortunate issues here, and I was surprised as Gregory has previously proven to be perfectly adept at spinning an entertaining story out of very little (or potentially biased) source information.
First, as o... Read more
