Worth the Risk: The Worth Series Book 1

This is drool-worthy stuff, here. I mean, there isn’t much missing from this delectable work with its hot-as-a-forest-fire-in-May Ranger, as well as the smart and sassy professor that loves the outdoors but loves that Ranger even more. The smokin’ Ranger, Caleb, has some serious demons from his childhood he’s been wrestling with but still maintains that knight in shining armor status whether he’s aware of it or not. Meanwhile there’s some shady business going on in the hills, and a smarmy Dean of Sciences who’s running a little game of his own with that special professor, Danielle, under his administration. Add enough passion between Caleb and Danielle to melt your Kindle, and well… I just couldn’t flip those epages fast enough. There’s a ton of great sex, good banter, mystery, suspense, fighting, and just plain craziness throughout. But honestly, this may be one of the MOST satisfying endings ever. That’s a tough claim to make, but you be the judge. I’ll stand by it. This romance left me completely, totally, absolutely fulfilled. Yeah. It’s worth the risk.

This is a review of the first book in the Risk Series by this author, and let me say that I am pleasantly surprised. I enjoyed the storyline, the characters and the author's writing style. Told in third person POV, it is an entertaining journey between park ranger Caleb Hunt and college professor Danielle French. Much as they fight it, Caleb and Dani's sizzling chemistry is undeniable. It is refreshing to read the natural progression of this couple's relationship. Add to that an interesting cast of supporting characters who makes the story more engaging. The author did a good job of keeping the tension both with the plot and also with the main characters of the book. An intriguing read peppered with drama, suspense, mystery, deception, love, and steamy scenes to keep you engaged in their story. Grab a copy of the book and experience their journey to their happy ever after.

Wow! What a great series. There is so much going on. There is love, emotions, hotness, danger, and suspense all intertwined into a hard to put down, well written story. Caleb is a ranger in the park where Dani has come to research frogs. Caleb believes in staying there away from people because of issues that he has resulting from his childhood. Then, Dani arrives, and boy, does the chemistry spark between them, but it is far, far from smooth sailing. From there, there are so many twists and turns. Weston Parker, one does a such a great job developing the characters, that you can feel their emotions, and two, sucks you into the story from page one, all the way to the end. It is definitely worth the risk. I voluntarily reviewed this advance copy, and I highly recommend it.

Such a great read and very H O T!!! This book by Weston Parker is amazingly written and was filled with so much of everything (emotions, intrigue, danger, sexual chemistry, etc.), that I couldn’t put it down.
Dani is a professor heading out to the woods for some research and Caleb is a sexy, loner type park ranger and they have instant chemistry. Caleb has some prior childhood issues that he tries to work through during the book and at times, Dani and her emotions are caught in the middle, but in the end, it all works out. Read it and you won’t be disappointed. I highly recommend it and love the setup for Dani’s friend and Caleb’s friend to get together ;-)

When Caleb finally understood that he wasn't his parents was a wonderful part. Definitely steamy encounters between the two! Great book!

Weston Parker has done it again! This book is an incredible love story between Caleb and Dani. Both of these amazing characters suffer from guarded hearts and loneliness stemming from their pasts. Will it be "Worth The Risk" for them to open themselves up to love? You bet!! If you are in the mood for a fantastic romance with just the right amount of lust, attraction, danger, angst, suspense, heartache and happiness mixed with steamy bits that will leave you satisfied yet wanting more, then this is the book for you! Starting this book I really wasnt sure what to expect, the blurb provided read as a romance but the prologue read like a sinister mystery beginnings. What unfurled was a genius mix that you can always associate Weston Parker with.

Dani has been offered a grant to study frogs, in a newly donated patch of land that Caleb is in charge of. Caleb is a beautiful leading man, thats not to say that I didnt want to kick him at times, but he was lovely. Internally tortured, Caleb is a mix of wanting Dani gone and not wanting to let their spark dissipate.

Great action-packed romance story. Both Dani and Caleb are loners and stubborn so at first they don’t know how to deal with their instant attraction and chemistry that lasts longer than one night. Caleb was the definition of hot and cold character. I get the issues regarding his childhood, but sometimes he was really frustrating. The only thing I didn’t like was how the Dean’s harassment was resolved or in this case not resolved at all. I would have expected of Dani to at least file a report about his sexual harassment. Nevertheless, great story and even though I received an arc I will buy this book since it contains two sequels.

This was a pretty good Ranger/city slicker story between Caleb and Dani.

Lots of hot, over the top scenes, but a little frustrating with Caleb ditching Dani again and again. I get that he had issues, but when she pursued him the last time, I wasn't sure why that was enough to convince him that he could have a real relationship with her.

Not crazy about Dani and how she handles the whole sleazy Dean situation. I really felt like he got away with sexual harassment and was allowed to treat others the same way in the future.

In that sense, I wasn't too thrilled with their HEA.

Dani is a strong willed and feisty lady. She is a professor who was given a grant to study frogs. Little did she know she would encounter a hot and intriguing park ranger.

The chemistry between these two is out of this world. This book has it all; highs, lows, suspension, passion, emotion, danger and so much more. With so many twists and turns, Weston has created another hit!

Excellent contemporary romance between a Forrest ranger and a professor. The author did an excellent job on character development and brought in about childhood traumas. Caleb is a Forrest ranger expecting a stodgy professor but turns out it's Danielle French. The sexual chemistry between them is explosive. Caleb's childhood was extremely traumatic with alcohol and child abuse. His greatest fear is being around someone and looking control. Suddenly, everything changes when an illegal mining is going on in the Forrest and the criminals involved are violent putting both Caleb and Dani in jeopardy.

A beautiful love story featuring Caleb and Dani. Caleb is a park ranger with a wounded heart and lots of emotional scars from his father. He has no interest in a relationship but the minute he meets sexy biologist Dani he is instantly attracted to her. She has a grant to study frogs in his park so they are constantly thrown together. They face some danger from the miners and lots of drama. This book is well written and very emotional. Weston Has done a great job with this book. WOW! Grab some tissues for this emotional roller coaster of a ride. Two loners with chemistry off the charts in this twisted emotional, heart felt drama. Weston Parker did a phenomenal job the plot is well written. To bad a couldn't give it more then 5 ? Because I would have.

Caleb doesn't do relationships and he makes sure they known it. But somehow the little science professor got under his skin and he can't keep his hands off her. More the reason to stay away from her. Dani work so hard and finally she gets the opportunity to prove her theory. But that ranger drives her crazy. One minute she wants to hit him the next she wants to crawl all over him. I love it, the storyline, the characters and the hotness between them. A standalone with no cheating and an HEA. I voluntarily received an arc and this is my honest review.

A get down and dirty love story. Dani, a professor out in the field to do research meets Caleb, a forest ranger in the woods Dani has chosen. It was not love at first sight, but sparks do fly. Hot and steamy love scenes ensue as well as a some evil taking place in the woods. A good, fast moving story until it got a little bogged down toward the end with the "I'm not good enough--Yes you are" line. Have no fear, an HEA results and love triumphs over all. I usually love everything Weston Parker writes, but the three books in this series (the other two were in as bonus books) just dragged on. Caleb and Dani were the best of the couples, while the others seemed whiney and overall annoying. I would pick up any of Weston’s other books in a heartbeat over this series.

So worth it! This book has everything I love when it comes to a book. This writer flawlessly packages this read with action, steam, and emotional weight, but everything is so balanced. It took my breath away. Caleb and Dani are well-written characters who have wonderful chemistry and feel real. The plot is solid, and exciting. I highly recommend this read and this author. Professor and Ranger were locking horns. Story started out typical - them not getting along and getting on each others’ nerves but when they connect, they combusted. However, there is meat to the story as provided by the conflicts such as the dean’s harassment, his childhood, and the danger of the illegal activities in the park. It is an action-packed story. I also like the way the author resolved Professor and Ranger’s personal issues. [I received a free copy of this book and voluntarily chose to review it.]

Worth the Risk is another incredible romance from Weston Parker.

Caleb and Dani are complex and deep characters. Each with their own goals and each with their wonderfully stubborn ways. The attraction and sexual tension is palpable. The descriptive interaction between them is explosive. The storylines just meld this beautiful book into a masterpiece of excitement, adventure, lust, fun and romance. It has everything you could want in a book. I love it!

An absolute wonderfully written love story. Caleb, the park ranger feels because of his past he can’t love anyone. Along comes Dani, a scientist to do research in the park. It takes them both being threatened to near death & he has to do what he needs to in order to protect her from being hurt for him to realize that he loves her. Worth the Risk by Weston Parker - Wow!
I different in a good way style of writing from Weston compared to his previous books. A push / pull story about 2 lonely people getting on with their lives & what happens when they find each other. An amazing story that grabs you early on & keeps you hooked.

I will be reading more books by Weston. The story was phenomenal, and the writing was absolutely captivating.

Great story. Caleb has a terrible past that keeps him distant from others. When Dani arrives to camp out in his forest for her tenure, he's not sure he can stay away. Things between them are dangerous and after experiencing real danger, he leaves her. Can he put his past aside and concentrate on their future? OMG this book gets 10 stars. This book is amazing I couldn't put this book down all three books were just amazing. Caleb and Dani the chemistry between them was amazing.. Funny scary. Caleb and Professor Greenhorn (I loved that nickname) are fantastic character's. I wasn't sure if I wanted to give Caleb a hug or smack him upside the head!

Dani and Caleb find some chemistry, passion, dangers, emotional entanglement, and a few miners not on the schedule of the day. Good characters. Good story. Good chemistry. Good read.

Not too sure what to expect with thus series; but ended up totally surprised. The characters were great and their personal descriptions necessary to make these stories work. Although these characters are related in some way and necessary to making thus series work, these three stories are standalone in themselves.

Caleb and Dani, really put their hearts and souls into their on again, off again turbulent relationship. This was an exciting adventure with danger, from not just bad guys but danger of losing them selves. And whoo boy! The sexy scenes were smoking hot! I received this book happily and am submitting my review voluntarily.

Worth the Risk by Weston Parker - Wow!
I different in a good way style of writing from Weston compared to his previous books. A push / pull story about 2 lonely people getting on with their lives & what happens when they find each other. An amazing story that grabs you early on & keeps you hooked.

Absolutely loved this book! This story is about Park Ranger Caleb Hunt and Dr. Danielle French. Caleb has decided to live a life of solitude and Being an only child, Danielle is used be being alone. Neither expected more than one night. These characters must find a way to overcome their childhoods and move on if they want to find happiness. Complicated and compelling. A great read.

I just loved Caleb and Dani's story the chemistry between these two was amazing.This was a super read Caleb is a park ranger and enjoys being out there alone until he meets Dani she out there studying frogs.When they decide to give in to the attraction between them it is supposed to be just for one night but fate has other plans for them .A super read i would recommend it

I love that this story is about 2 people that are broken and they fight so they can be together and they help each other in ways they didn't even know needed help. I also love that dani is a strong woman but also a living woman who knows what and who she wants in her life ....I absolutely love Weston Parker books he knows what we need in the way he writes!

This was my first book by this author and I was gutted by this story! This story was so amazing that I laughed, cried, screamed and begged the characters to do things other than what they did. Eventually they did do what I wanted and I was happy to read it but my heart was hurting on their journey to get there.

This was interesting in that it had somewhat of a plot. But the woman was lame and incongruent. Her character was represented as all jacked because she was a big girl and yet self confident enough to tell the main character off....not very believable or likable characters.

Not too sure what to expect with thus series; but ended up totally surprised. The characters were great and their personal descriptions necessary to make these stories work. Although these characters are related in some way and necessary to making thus series work, these three stories are standalone in themselves.

What an amazingly brilliant book! I never know what to expect from Weston Parker. Parker had my emotions all over the place with this beautifully written book, at times I wanted to chuck my phone at a wall. In the end, all the crazy emotions were worth it. I can't wait for more!!

Now one of his close friends gives him a telephone call and gives him a heads up that there might be some trouble in his area to be careful. Now this is where Dani the sexy professor comes into his mind that just got to the campground today she is studying frogs on a Grant and man is she green on this camping thing. Dani sets up her camp with alittle help from Caleb and after that he leaves and she goes to bed.the next morning she gets up and takes a very cold shower then has the nastiest coffee ever. So Dani decides to go search for the frogs now after about all day she comes back to camp and finds that someone has invaded her space so she goes on to Caleb's cabin near his place she see's him chopping wood and oh boy she nearly loses it then.(panties wet)But she goes to him and they have it out once on his ATV and back at her camp site he see's where someone has been at her site and they get into it once again but he pins her to a tree trying to talk to her while she is yelling at him then all of a sudden she kisses him and Caleb returns the kiss urgently. This book is about Caleb & Dani. Caleb is a park ranger whose friend just put him in charge of a new park he created in memory of his parents. Caleb had a horrific childhood and terrified to let anyone get too close to him. Dani is a professor researching frogs on a grant funded by Caleb's friend. Being an only child, she is used to doing things her way. Drawn closer to each other, they inevitably give in to their feelings. Unknown to either of them, there is a hidden menace in the park that will threaten their love and their lives before they can figure out how they feel. This is a stand alone novel and has a HEA. I voluntarily read an advanced copy of this book. However, I just now borrowed a copy on KU because of the 2 included novels about characters in Worth the Risk.

Caleb is a lone wolf with no real friends and even less prospects of a relationship. He's perfectly satisfied working as ranger and watching over the forest. An only child who never received any kind affection from his alcoholic parents.

Dani comes to Caleb to due some field work and try to climb the tenure ladder at her university while being pursued by the dean of her department. She's fiesty, independent, strong and beautiful.

Talk about emotions all over the place when they first meet. Upon being in danger his fears of being a monster are realized. Poor Dani can't decipher his feelings for and hers cor him.

Another must read from Weston that doesn't fail to produce an rollercoaster of emotions. A great addition to any library.

You will not want to put this one down until the very end…and that’s what we like! I received a reader copy of this book and was absolutely enthralled with the story, the characters and the emotional impact it provided. Job very well done – but that is something we expect from Weston Parker.

This is the first book I have read by the author and look forward to reading more. Brice Masterson has received a sizeable inheritance from his father’s will including a large chunk of land. His uncle, Wesley Masterson has been trying to contest the will for his own benefit and repay his debts to no avail. Danielle is a research scientist who has garnered a grant, from Brice’s foundation, to allow her to study frogs. Her boss, Dr. Jeffrey Fischer, is attracted to her and holds her tenure in his hands. Caleb is the sexy alpha forest ranger who is charged with looking after Danielle while she is in his park collecting samples. Danielle and Caleb are highly attracted to each other. However there is danger afoot. This is an enjoyable read with suspense, witty banter and steamy scenes. It is definitely one book that you want to add to your shelf.

I loved the main characters, Caleb with his sad past causing is fear in commitment and Danielle, who always felt alone.
Their feeling will grow while they will have to face a dangerous twisted plot. We see what a smart, clever and brave one can be Dani, while Caleb shows the protector he is when the one he cares is in danger. But after everything, will they be able to take the fall together, is love worth the risk?

I'm sorry Weston, I love all your books but I found this one slow, it's didn't excite me like the other books. Dani is a professor out in the field doing research and starts up a thing with the hunky park ranger Caleb. The book gets better half way through with a few twists. Usually I read a book in a day, this took me a few days because I kept putting it down as was getting bored

Caleb and Dani are complex and deep characters. Each with their own goals and each with their wonderfully stubborn ways. The attraction and sexual tension is palpable. The descriptive interaction between them is explosive. The storylines just meld this beautiful book into a masterpiece of excitement, adventure, lust, fun and romance. It has everything you could want in a book. I love it!

This book was just ok for me.

Dani is going to spend weeks out in the woods trying to find evidence for her research. When she gets to the site she finds and extremely handsome and extremely rude ranger waiting for her.
Wesley is instantly attracted to Dani but he doesn't know how to just go about his usual hook up with her. Meaning hit it and quit it basically.

This book had a lot of action and drama. There was just too much back and forth between the two main characters. Even at the end of all the drama Wesley can't make his mind up about the way he feels for Dani.

The three stories showed how opposites attract and that you shouldn’t judge someone by their outer appearance. The sex was steamy and added to the tension between all the characters. Worth the read!!
