Review:How to write about a Pratchett book without it degenerating into incoherent fangirly squeeing? I'll try, but I'm not making any promises.
This is the 3rd Tiffany Aching book, which is a subset of the Discworld series. Tiffany is a young witch-in-training.
In Wintersmith, Tiffany turns 13, which is a difficult enough time in any girl's life. But Tiffany's not just any girl, so things are exponentially more difficult. Her biggest problem starts when she (unintentionally, to be sure) ... Read more
Review:The midwinter holiday on Discworld is Hogswatch rather than Christmas, and the Hogfather is the Discworld's counterpart of Santa Claus. He climbs down chimneys, gives presents, says, "HO-HO-HO," and drives a sleigh pulled by four flying pigs. Many children of the Disc believe in him, which is why he exists. (This is a fundamental characteristic of the magical system in Terry Pratchett's Discworld books.) Belief causes the thing believed in to exist, and when belief stops, that existence stops. T... Review:This is not the novel! I was taken to this title from a link and bought it thinking it was the novel. This is a script for a stage adaptation of the book as it says in the title, however, Terry Pratchett being who he is, I just thought it was part of the book title. Now I CAN'T RETURN IT because it's a digital order. Thanks Amazon... Read more

Review:Another excellent novel by human satirist Terry Pratchett, anyone who likes word play, a rollicking adventure along with a deep insight into what makes humans, and all the species of the world tick. Discworld is a place to got to look back on our own world and laugh!! Read more
Review:I suppose this was a good start. Having read the Wizards and Death books before I did expect a bit more, but it did improve once the plot and characters were established. Looking forward to Men At Arms (book 2) now that introductions are over with. Read more
Review:The fact that this book was based on true events made it more interesting.. I felt it was too objective and not written in a personal way. I have read many books about the concentration camps that brought me to tears, this one did not. Read more
Review:I found myself wanting to know what was next for the main character and how he would handle it. I was concerned it was too much for my 10 year old son, but it stimulated the most interesting conversation. I feel it is a great description to remember the holocaust. Read more
Review:Too "rated pg" for me. The best part of his previous books was the raw, graphic, well written battles...and lots of them!
Not much more than two to note in these 333 pages.
I won't be reading part 2 or 3 of these.
Bring back the bloody nine or the snake chic, though, and I'm all in! Read more
