Review:Mentions masturbation and and uses words that would get kids suspended from school. How is this a young adult book, why does it have a Caldecot award. While this grotesque behavior may be true to life experience for some kids, I don't want to promote it or condone it. I borrowed this book from the library and intend to take it back with some words. I don't ever believe in banning a book, but books marketed to children should not contain words that I am not allowed to include in this review..... Read more
Review:Hope Larson did an amazing job making a classic book into a lovely graphic novel. The illustrations are spot on! She took all the best parts of the book and made them come alive. Really an excellent read and a beautiful expression of L'Engle's wonderful story. Don't even hesitate: BUY THIS NOW! Read more

Review:Graphic Novels are so much fun to read, and Through the Woods was fantastic! I think this book will appeal to readers young and old alike. It was surprisingly spooky in some tales, which was an added delight. I was not expecting to get goosbumps while reading. I sat down and read the book and I as soon as I was done I went over to my cousins house to look through it with her son that loves all things ookey and spooky. He is in second grade and he loved the book! I couldn't even get him to give i... Read more
Review:It was a good book for me for summer reading this year, I am going into the 8th grade, so it was pretty easy for me. I would say this book would be for 12 and up because it could get a little inappropriate at times, there is little swearing and the main character smokes, so this wouldn't be good for younger kids, overall it was a great book. Review:I bought this book for my 10 year old nephew (4th grade). He loves to read now but has been through vision therapy for dyslexia. Now that he likes reading, I really wanted to get him some fun books that would just encourage a love of reading a good book. He has been reading this to me out loud and we have both really enjoyed it. I personally like it as much as he does and I'm 44. He has been laughing out loud and we have had some fun discussions about ridiculous premises in the book, like would ... Read more
Review:Been excited to read this book for ages. I have read almost every book by Marie, and I have loved them all. Was a little bit nervous about this one, because I wanted to love it so so much. And oh, I ended up enjoying it so much. Yess. Had a few small issues with it, but nothing big, and mostly this book was perfect.
I found this writing to be flawless. Yesss. It was such a joy to read this book. It's fast and easy to read as well, which I loved lots. And I fell in love with this creative ... Read more
Review:3.5/5 Stars
I am so happy that Iko is finally getting her own story and I love that it's in this new format. The art by Douglas Holgate is great, and while not everyone is depicted the way I pictured them, it all looks cohesive. Story wise I like where things are headed but it took too long to really get into it. I'm glad Meyer is focusing on Iko's inner workings and how she perceives life and how others perceive her. Hopefully the next one will cover more and give us a satisfying conclus... Read more
Review:This story of Craig’s adolescence is very well crafted and told in a very compelling fashion. The storyline kept me hooked for the duration of novel and I really cared for the characters. The artwork is easy to follow and attractive to the eye. I also liked that this was a longer graphic novel, so it had enough substance to make it feel like it was worth my money. My one regret is that I read this in the middle of the summer, but it would be a perfect read for those cozy winter days by the fire. Read more
Review:Poorly developed characters. I understand this author is a recovering addict, and the druggy character was the only one in the book that was actually depicted in detail. Had so much potential, but it fell flat. It made for some interesting discussion in my book group with a plethora of criticism for the storyline, writing style, and lack of character development.
