Review:Fantastic non stop action with twists and turns to keep you hooked. To additiion of two gorgeous males makes the read all the more enjoyable. I love how Sloan's powers are progressing and developing and the introduction of different dangers from her own mother to the devil. I can't wait for the next in the series! Read more
Review:Ok, so i'm doing this review for books 1 to 12
I absolutely love this series, it has everything, just everything, Kim sucks you in and never let go and you don't want to leave this world she created. I love every secondary character, even though they all have murderous tendencies, every single one of them but deep down they all have good in them and Kim shows that to you.
My favorite characters are Jenks, Al, Kisten and Trent and i do hope that Kim does something with Al,it just about brok... Read more
Review:I really looked forward to this book and read it in one sitting. I loved the character development, and I hate to say this, but especially AL. I was wondering if anyone else felt that Rachel does belong in the ever after with Al. You can see it develop slowly from about book seven I think that AL likes Rachel more than he meant to and this one I think goes that one little step further. I actually like trent in this one and pierce is just a pain in the proverbial. I am glad that Rachel and Ivy ha... Read more
Review:Though not completely unbearable (the story is great, which is why I put 4 stars), this Harper Audio version of The Outlaw Demon Wails has some REALLY annoying oversights. You would think that the sixth book in this popular series would have rated more attention to detail. The way the narrator pronounces key names and terms completely differently from Marguerite Gavin (who has narrated the rest of the series so excellently through Tantor Media) is quite jarring to the ear and distracts from the ... Review:I'm four books behind! It is summer. Therefore I have more good days than bad. Therefore I'm outside a lot more. But therefore I'm overdoing it and having to stay inside recuperating. I claim those as my excuses for not being caught up on my reading. Oh, and I'm still knitting and crocheting quite a few hats for the Hugger Hats group. But wait a minute! I listen to books while I knit and crochet. How would that slow me down? Oh, yeah, and then a couple binge watchings. Anyone finish with the Ora... Read more
Review:I would enthuse wildly, but there's nothing to enthuse about. I would bash, but there's not much to bash. I'm pretty much 'meh' about this book. I expected more.
The first time I saw White Teeth it was in a huge ad on the side of my favorite bookstore. I looked at it, read whatever was written underneath and decided it was probably a serious book about racial issues, so I wasn't really interested. Incidentally, I was wrong about the first part. The book's a comedy through and through. But... Read more
Review:I just finished reading the first 60 pages and its so annoying. She must repeat at least 10 times that she has been seeing Phil for 4 years. I feel like there are lots of fillers here, she repeats everything we know so many times she could have written 60 pages in 20. I do agree that she was once a fantastic writer, but not anymore. I doubt I'll ever read another of her books, don't know if I'll even finish this one. So far its a really boring read. Read more
Review:The forms he uses for Michael's perspective are inventive, but I felt like what he had to say about mental illness just didn't match with my beliefs (and I have been exposed to much of that world personally). That doesn't mean that it won't line up with yours, so give it a try. Haslett was a participant in the Iowa's Writer Workshop and he is a good writer, just not my cup of tea. Read more
Review:Junot Diaz's collection of short stories, "This Is How You Lose Here, is magical. His characters come to life in these stories of lust, love, loneliness, illness and desperation. Despite their circumstances, the characters never lose hope and the ability to dream.
Besides the beauty of Diaz's language and the authenticity of his characters,it is the universality of the themes, which appeal to all of us.
I heartily recommend this collection. Read more
