A Novel of Cosmic Horror (John Dies at the End) - What the Hell Did I Just Read
A Novel of Cosmic Horror (John Dies at the End) - What the Hell Did I Just Read

Review:I wish this book was longer!

Seriously, by the time I got to the end I felt like I'd only read half a book. It took me two days to read (I had a hard time putting it down) so that might explain why it felt like it wasn't enough.

I enjoyed being able to read the story from Dave's, John's, and Amy's points of view, as all three are unreliable narrators in their own way (Dave and John for the obvious reasons we're used to, Amy due to her inability to see certain things because she do... Read more

The Unnoticeables: A Novel (The Vicious Circuit)

Review:This is exactly my can of tuna - filthy, funny, violent contemporary paranormal fiction. Now I can go back to reading picture books for a while.

Apathy and Other Small Victories: A Novel
Apathy and Other Small Victories: A Novel

Review:I'll keep this short and sweet. This book is laugh out loud funny. It's crude, vulgar, obscene, and it'll have you turning pages long into the night laughing like an idiot. Shane, with his dry sarcasm and complete apathy towards life, is one of my new favorite anti-heroes. This book is HIGHLY recommended!! Read more

Review:This book was so extraordinarily well-written -- it reminds me completely of what high school was like -- of all the complex & sometimes nonsensical thoughts that ran through my head. It makes so many other novels about adolescence seem somewhat one dimensional.

In the same way that Dave Eggers' stream-of-consciousness "A Heartbreaking Work of Staggering Genius" captured the way my mind works now, Curtis Sittenfeld's rather more carefully written novel captured a lot of the way my mi... Read more

Futuristic Violence and Fancy Suits: A Novel
Futuristic Violence and Fancy Suits: A Novel

Review:Not a book which I did expect from David Wong. His two previous books was much-much better.
Predictable weak plot. Pathetic characters. The ending is stupid and looks like there will be sequel, which I am not going to read
He-he, bought it on Amazon, and in a week saw it for a half price at BN. Read more

Skullcrack City

Review:There's a black wolf behind me. I can feel its breath on my neck. I don't have a lot of time to write this review.
I came into this book with nothing except the expectation of a story of drug addiction. What I got was a hilarious, creepy, futuristic romp which also had a story about a dude addicted to stuff who bent his little friend out of shape.
I have a terrible attention span, but gosh darn if I didn't crank through this mama jama. Did not see the ending coming, either.
Needless to ... Read more

The Unhappy Medium: A Supernatural Comedy. Book 1
The Unhappy Medium: A Supernatural Comedy. Book 1

Review:Wow, this is best thing I've read in many years. An artful blend of comedy and thrills featuring a bloodthirsty revenant from the Spanish inquisition. The author has a knack for clever dialog and amusing phrases. The characters are interesting, and quite believable - if you make allowances for the wildly imaginative circumstances, and don't include the villains who are at once clownish and horrifying. Do yourself a favor, and ignore the naysayers who would doubtless emerge unscathed from a s... Read more

The Angels' Share (The Bourbon Kings)

Review:I wasn't too sure about reading this due to price but after the first book, I was hooked!! I read both books in a day and a half! I genuinely loved all the characters and was dying inside when it ended.

*No spoilers* But my heart was completely torn out for Edward and Sutton at the end of the book but the last chapter at least provided a happy ending for the others..... for the time being. I have high hopes for Gin and hope that her story continues in another directions.... but a reader ... Read more

The Black Dagger Brotherhood: An Insider's Guide

Review:I really enjoyed Bella and Zsadist short story. It was a really nice treat to see an update on a great couple from the brotherhood. Now i will admit the interviews characters part was fun but you can find basically the same stuff on her website, but they seemed updated. I really like when she explained the way she wrote each book. Speaking of which i was surprised and delighted the way she felt Lover Unbound was dificult to write. I felt Lover Unbound was the worst in the series and now i know w... Read more
