Blood Infernal: The Order of the Sanguines Series
Blood Infernal: The Order of the Sanguines Series

Review:Enjoy this new concept even though I questioned it because I typically am not a fan of vampire stories but now I look forward to the next book in this series. Even though I also am waiting for the next Sigma Force novel. Read more

Wit and Wisdom from America's Finest - Awesome Sh*t My Drill Sergeant Said
Wit and Wisdom from America's Finest - Awesome Sh*t My Drill Sergeant Said

Review:As a former Drill Sergeant and retired Soldier I appreciate the humor in this book. To the civilian with no military background initial military training is serious business with hours of repetition and can be quite boring to a trained Soldir conducting the training. The boredom is allayed by humor as described in this book. Read more

Acceptance: A Novel (The Southern Reach Trilogy)
Acceptance: A Novel (The Southern Reach Trilogy)

Review:Such an upset. Minor spoilers ahead.

The first book was brilliant. Regardless of the douchey negativity Vandermeer expresses toward H.P. Lovecraft he quite obviously took cues from his writing and ideas of cosmic terror which made Annihilation so wonderfully scary and mysterious. Authority, the second book in the series, slowed the pace down but was still great in its own way, playing out more like a spy novel with the scares and mystery peppered in. But this third entry is a disaster fr... Read more

Authority: A Novel (The Southern Reach Trilogy)

Review:His series of books has an interesting premise. But it went on forever and never produced an explanation or a resolution. This is among the least satisfying series I have ever read. I regret starting it. Read more

Annihilation; Authority; Acceptance - The Southern Reach Trilogy
Annihilation; Authority; Acceptance - The Southern Reach Trilogy

Review:The story had so much potential. The first hundred pages were really good, you had no idea what was happening, but it was creepy. Then the leaden prose started weighing down the book. I found myself skipping paragraphs, then pages, because they added nothing to the plot. It really was the same thing over and over again. We get it, Area X messes with your mind. The author brings in so many different items, then simply moves past them never to explain what they were. By the time I neared th... Read more

Star Wars Legends (The Old Republic) (Star Wars - The Old Republic
Star Wars Legends (The Old Republic) (Star Wars - The Old Republic

Review:Annihilation - This was actually a really enjoyable read considering it was not full Force based on a Jedi or a Sith. I enjoyed finding out in more depth that there were special forces and not just Jedi's working to defeat the Empire and the Sith. I would recommend this book to all those who love Han Solo. Not the lone wolf exactly, but the lone wolf with a Republic to save! Read more

Borne: A Novel
Borne: A Novel

Review:This is a wonderful book by a gifted writer. Such beautiful prose - it captured me immediately. It has a truly imaginative plot of a dystopian future ravaged by out of control technology and corporate greed. But again - it is a beautiful book that will Iive with me for a long time. Read more

Uncommon Criminals (A Heist Society Novel)
Uncommon Criminals (A Heist Society Novel)

Review:Full disclosure: UNCOMMON CRIMINALS was one of my most anticipated reads for 2011 and I've been waiting to read it ever since I read HEIST SOCIETY last year. I was super excited when I heard there were early copies out in the wild, so I hunted one down and devoured the book in two days. I love a good heist story - be it a movie (Ocean's Eleven or The Italian Job anyone?), TV show (Are you watching White Collar?), or book. If you like a good heist story, you're going to love this series by Ally C... Read more

I read these books quite a while ago, when I was about 11-12-13 years old. I thought they were really clever and really enjoyed them! Sadly, when I was reading them I believe they were only out with the fou... Read more
