Review:I am addicted to these books! I was given the first one by a friend, read it within the first 24 hours. I promptly ordered my own box series so that I could keep them and re-read them. I'm already on the third book and just got the box yesterday! They are seriously SO good and SO entertaining to read! Love the author's style of writing and love the story-line of the books :) Read more
Review:I'm probably a little biased since I own all of Kiera Cass's books (sometimes in print and ebook). This is a collection of the novella length companion books to the Selection series -- The Queen, The Prince, The Guard, and The Favorite. I enjoyed the additional illustrations to go along with the novellas. There are also sneak peeks to what I assume are future companion novellas Celeste and The Maid. I agree with the other reviewer that said the "After the One" scene is adorable and well wort... Read more
Review:The book reads like some weird info dump. It’s very dry and boring. Could be a result of the translation but I doubt it. And it’s crazy short. Definitely not worth $6. Deeply regret this purchase. Read more
Review:What a fantastic book.
We are introduced to 16 year old Amel that has just begun Dragon school. No big deal you say?? Anel has always dreamt of flying and becoming a dragon rider and won't let anything get in her way, not even her crippled leg. She has a heart of gold and wants to live life on her terms.
I honestly can say that I loved Amels tenasity. She has been belittled and made fun of and yet she was the most determined and compassionate young lady never letting anyone tell her what s... Read more
Review:I haven't seen Alex Proyas' film version of this famous science fiction novel---nor do I really plan to, now that I've had a chance to read it. I'd rather not destroy the good memories of reading Asimov's book by watching a movie that, to say the least, hardly does it much justice.
Asimov's book isn't a coherent narrative, so to speak. It is essentially a group of short stories tied together by the framing device of a reporter interviewing a famed robopsychologist named Dr. Susan Calvin, ... Read more

Review:Jazz is another great work by Toni Morrison. I can only say this because I am somewhat 'used to' reading Morrison's writing style. Not that there is a style, per se. And not that one could ever *really* get 'used to' reading Morrison. This fantastic work is like a jazz composition in and of itself: the narrator is the "band leader;" the characters (when allowed to speak for themselves or when they think on something from their past) are the individual "musicians" called on from time to time to i... Review:I thought this book was amazing. The author gives you a lot of random information during the beginning half of the novel, but once
you have reached towards the end of the book all of this information falls into place. I loved the ending. It was terrific. The last sentence of the novel even somes up the whole book, and really connects to the very beginning of the novel. I loved this book so much that if I was introduced to it out of my english class
I would still have read it. Read more
Review:In thrilling and deeply intricate Sula (Penguin $11.95) Toni Morrison divulges into the complex fabric of a black town in Ohio, "The Bottom". The main characters, Sula and Nel, seemingly merge into the same character and interestingly shared the role of narrating the story. Sula, the title character, is young African American girl in the beginning who lives in a house filled with colorful characters like her promiscuous mother Hannah, allowing her to develop the arrogance, promiscuity, and unc...
