Filibooks Classics (Illustrated) - Riders of the Purple Sage
Filibooks Classics (Illustrated) - Riders of the Purple Sage

Review:Besides being another thrilling western story by Zane Grey, this one delves into the intricacies of the Mormon cult and the problems it creates in peoples lives. Although the story is fiction, it is good historical fiction and I have recommended it to many friends. Read more

The Long Way Home (A Secret Refuge Series #3)

Review:I have enjoyed this series so very much. There has to be another part of the story to come. Great relationships developed between the main character and her slave family. I hope I had an ancestor with this much grit. Read more

Stories of Hope and Healing - What Difference Do It Make?
Stories of Hope and Healing - What Difference Do It Make?

Review:When I started reading this book it was at the end of a long hard day after work, one of those days where I am blessed to have a job, but when I also wonder if what I'm doing is worth some of the not so blessed drama I go through. I work at a non-profit agency where its my job to assist people on public assistance find gainful employment, so in my position I hear all kinds of tales of woe and there are times (more than not) lately when I find myself becoming desensitized to the plights of my fel... The Art of Living: Vipassana Meditation

Review:I wrongly thought this book teaches the techniques and ended up fascinated about the many things one is supposed to know before kicking off. Really enjoyed to learn precisely what Buddha discovered which was set apart from the common religious thoughts of his times. Read more

Origen (En espanol) (Spanish Edition)

Read more

Hearing God's Voice One Next Step at a Time - Follow the Cloud
Hearing God's Voice One Next Step at a Time - Follow the Cloud

Review:This book is quite easy to read, engages the reader quite effectively, and the theology is sound and biblically based. My only complaint is that it is a bit too simplistic, more milk than meat, and seems to be targeted at Christians who have not spent much time in the Word or developing a relationship with the Lord. There are no great revelations in this book, but the message is practical and for someone learning how to follow God in their life, I think this is a good place to start. Read more

The Case Against God (The Skeptic's Bookshelf)
The Case Against God (The Skeptic's Bookshelf)

Review:This book undermines extreme religious fundamentalism, and in doing so, Smith has an easy ride. It deserves 5 stars because Smith makes such a strong and worthy case against the narrow and intolerant attitudes and perspectives of fundamentalism. Yet undermining extreme fundamentalism and Biblical literalism, is by no mean the same as undermining the deeper Spirit and message of Christianity.
Smith comes nowhere near achieving this, and as it happens, Smith's perspective, attitudes and tone ar... Read more
