Review:Always hats off to Parker's story telling power. This time trivial underwear checking affair by principal develops into rather big incident for the cop of small town. Every characters in this story seem to be struggling for real love. I haven't seen the word swingers for a long time. I thought the word was a parting gift of flower generation in seventies. I never imagined those people are still existing. I'm so glad to read Jesse finally shut down Jenn who pleas coming back to him. As Japanese ... Read more
Review:Stone Cold (Jesse Stone)
HAVE ALL the books is this series -- kudos to Robert Parker on the development of this enigmatic character. A definite series to continue. Read more
Review:In this, book 15 of Robert B. Parkers Jesse Stone Series, author Reed Farrell Coleman pens yet another sterling chapter in the life of Paradise, MA Police Chief Jesse Stone. And while the entire novel seemed to have a sense of foreboding, I was truly saddened by the ending. But then, given the path of Jesse Stone's life, and what makes his story so palpable, I suppose it had to be.
I've likely said too much already, so I'll not recount the story here. The summary can be gained elsewhere. I ... Read more
Review:Coleman has done a good job keeping this entertaining series going. He has a good sense for Parker's characters (including Spenser, who has a cameo here), and has developed Jesse Stone in interesting ways. His plots are a bit convoluted, and this new book is no exception, but that doesn’t detract seriously from the pleasure of a literate, intelligent crime story. Read more
Review:This is a thrilling and educational work. I recommend it to anyone interested in WWII history and the determination of the Naval personnel who doggedly fought against all odds to overcome the elements of nature and the unfortunate bureaucracy of far-flung base commands. Read more
Review:Daniel Silva has yet again written a novel that at the same time will entertain and scare the hell out of you; a novel as well researched and believable as LeCarre in his Cold War glory days, but moving at the pace of Follett or Forsythe at the top of their story-telling skills.
In "The Secret Servant", Gabriel Allon, the avenging angel of Israel's formidable secret service, is back to do battle again with the ever-rising tide of radical Islam terrorism. Sent to Amsterdam on a seemingly ... Read more
Review:I received this book through a Goodreads giveaway and this is my honest review. What a great suspense thriller. I couldn't put this book down until I finished reading it. Vickie and Griffin are a great team in solving clues sent to a newspaper office so they can find kidnapped victims before they die. It really is hair raising when Vickie is in danger and becomes a kidnap victim herself. Is Griffin able to save her without her help? You will have to read the book yourself to find out. I highly r... Read more
Review:My favorite aspect of this story was it's Irishness. Is that a thing? If not, it should be. The story involves an Irish-American family, proud of their heritage and operating a family pub in New York City, named Finnegans. Most of the characters were of Irish descent and they just had a wonderful and supportive community base that centered around the pub. The love and support between the Finnegan family was plain to see... but they had an extended family of sorts with regulars at the pub, which ... Read more
Review:The Queen of paranormal romantic suspense, returns with the third book in the Cafferty and Quinn series. Heather Graham's books always have that little touch of the paranormal in them and The Dead Play On is no different. This time it is in the saxophone of a dead Jazz player. Graham writes about the jazz scene in the city New Orleans like someone who has lived their all their life. She is able to give this book a dark, but sultry atmosphere that pervades it and gives the reader that chills down... Read more
Review:DEADLY FATE is #19 in author Heather Graham's Krewe of Hunters series and I think she needs a break.
I have read other books in this series and liked them a lot and I was especially looking forward to this one because I love Alaska.
But I can hardly find anything good to say about this story. The dialogue was stilted, the characters wooden, the romance and sex scenes were boring. I never did feel a connection between the H/h.
I did like most of the passages about Black Bear ... Read more
