Review:Wow, Michael Masterson really gets it! I couldn't believe all the answers that were in this book. It is apparent that Michael has actually lived being a successful entrepreneur, compared to all the ivory tower educators that have no real reality on what it takes to run a successful business. I only wish he would have written this book about 10 years ago. It would have saved me a bunch of doubt, uncertainty and worry. With my company now in Stage Two, I know what I need to do to get through S... Read more
Review:Taking the strengthsfinder inventory is fun. I learned some things about myself. You have to be honest when you answer the questions, so if you don't know yourself or have a false self-concept, the results are invalid though--that's a drawback for any self-report instrument. It would be better if you could take the test yourself and then have your spouse/partner and/or a close friend to complete it as well, responding to the questions with you in mind---then you could compare the results and ... Review:Ir si a Great book with amazing information. The lean culture should be adopted by every company.
I also wanted to clarify that someone that gave this book a one star rating mentioned they Toyota is not using Lean and they is very incorrect and it is misinforming people. http://www.toyota-global.com/company/vision_philosophy/toyota_production_system/ on this website you can see that it is still used and its part of Toyota's culture. Review:I was very pleasantly surprised with this book! It was a quick and easy read and it gave me lots of tips on how to make my business facebook posts even better and how to use instagram- a platform I was struggling with. I am recommending this to all my clients who want to manage social media themselves in the entertainment industry. I see twitter faux pas every day now that I have read this book;0 Read more
Review:Very well done and informative for anyone over 30 or 40. Has lots of insight into 'the business' and some thought generating information on different aspects of the Narco trade including sound logic for legalization of cannabis. Not sure I agree with doing so, but the argument has compelling elements. Good read to keep a sense of what is going on in a world that is different from mine specially if you have teens or kids in their 20's. Read more
Review:There is just one or two (not new) interesting concepts in this book and on top of it, the author could have captured them all in a few pages only. There was not really a good reason to write a this book except for letting us know how incredible IDEO is.
In comparison, "Ten faces of Innovation" is much more informative. Both books are easy to read and entertaining, but lack pragmatic advice. If you have to choose one of them, read "ten faces" only. Read more
Review:His system is solid marketing for his specific circumstances, I'll grant. That doesn't mean it will work for you or even apply remotely to your situation. When one of the major cornerstones of his plan's success is to already have four-to-eight books available, that right there cuts out the majority of self-publishers. I can't daisy-chain my marketing and reviews and book links between my multiple products if I only have one book ready and it takes me longer than his two months to write another ... Read more
Review:This book shows how the politicians and cheap labor tech people are trying to destroy the tech industry and the careers of decent hardworking Americans.
This is especially bad as the tech industry is an area where average people can go to school and with some effort and discipline hopefully get a well paying long term job. The politicians talk about well paying long term jobs and they actively attack and attempt to destroy an industry and the careers of their citizens. This is terrible. A... Read more
Review:The world is facing problems that no single organisation can solve on its own. Individualism doesn't cut it anymore. Cooperation and teamwork only will do. This book explains how the foundations of such a culture change can be laid down. Read more
Review:If you are a CEO of a publicly traded company this book is for you. Some good stories and examples but allocation of capital, stock buy backs, leveraged debt; there wasn't much in here about managing and leadership. It's more like a blueprint for creating shareholder value. Read more
