Spies & Politics
Review:I was sucked in from the beginning. Living southeast of Indianapolis and having worked EMS in Indy for years when the H1N1 pandemic was a possibility this book really hit home. Looking forward to reading books 2 and 3 Read more
Review:This is my first experience with this author. I will read more. This book takes you into the life of an author who is married with a child and seems to be struggling with the day to day life of writing and being a father. There is some history prior to the abduction but once the story get started you find out some interesting details about his past. The book has some surprises and when the struggle of holding it together for the two main characters after the daughter goes missing throws you into... Read more
Review:This is not your normal book. Told from the perspective of a number of different people (zombies), it feels random. With all the other zombie books, and TV shows, and movies, it is nice to have something from a mostly different angle.
The author warned that the book might be too much for some people. I didn't have any trouble with it. The Walking Dead TV show has bothered me much more. In any case, not a book I would recommend for children. Read more
Review:Victor is one bad ass dude, very lucky too. Great action with a good pace and a plot that adds many twists and turns. Even a few surprises. Well worth the money this series of books has been great in the two I have read so far. Read more
Review:Solid entry into the covert-one series. Mills is definitely the best writer of those that have attempted it, and here he does an admirable job of weaving a convincing story of current politics with some believable futuristic tech. If you read the series you'll enjoy it, and it's definitely a step above the other Ludlum spinoff of Paul Janson, but still behind Lustbader's Bourne. If you haven't read the series before, start with The Arctic Event, which remains the best entry. Read more
Review:I have read all of Robert Ludlums books. The Janson Directive does not read like his other books. It is as if someone else wrote this book and put Ludlums name on it. I found the story dull and very detailed. Read more
Review:Robert Ludlum transforms "Verhuete Laerm!" idyllic Switzerland into a wild west shoot-out backdrop where bullets buzz around the peaceful citizens in the streets of Zurich. Yes, the plot moves at a breakneck pace and overdone brutality is the author's key ingredient. With political correctness, the old ... who are suckling the secret of eternal youth must meet their overdue demise. Go ahead and read it and don't say I didn't warn you! Gerborg Read more
Review:After making an important point the author used humorous dialog to add to the main character's personality. This type of writing has been used extensively by Ludlum. I feel this makes the character more interesting. Keep it up! Read more
Review:I love a compelling story that features believable plot twists. This book is neither believable, nor entertaining to read. There are major plot twists so often, that the reader loses track of the good guys and the bad guys. This book features a 50+ page escape scene with so many 'missed chances' to kill the defenseless hero, in a dark, closed room, that I nearly put the book down at that point. Thankfully, I read on to experience the worst shooting assassins the world has ever seen. This bo... Read more
Review:Thought provoking novel of what could be in the not so far future and the possibility of hidden dangers associated with it. Great to see Jon Smith teamed with Randi Russell in the same organisation and how he tries to cope with her distinctly different personality. Great locations and many twists and turns to build the suspense. Read more
