Review:Neil DeGrasse Tyson is the best, and Space Chronicles is a fantastic read! Plenty of history, well blended with Tyson's unstoppable passion for space technology and exploration. I read the whole thing, from cover to cover, and send it to my best friend. Read more
Review:This profound Carl Sagan book does not include the wonderful color illustrations as the earlier version contains. Consequently, it is like a National Graphic Magazine without the pictures.
I love the words of Dr. Sagan, but words plus the spectacular pictures truly make "music."
Following is the edition you should get. I threw away the "Pale Blue Dot" paperback I received yesterday and today ordered a used hardback:

Review:It is a very well researched book. The language Carlson used is very easy to understand. He had used many Tesla's letters as the backbone of his chapters. The technical issues may be difficult for most to understand. But, what can one expect? Tesla was an inventor.
Carlson did not shy away from the shortcomings of Tesla. He painted an accurate account of Tesla. Good or bad. Tesla is a person. Unlike authorised biography, it is frank. Read more
Review:His ideas truly changed our world. We would never have our modern electrical distributuion with Edison's short sighted DC distribution ideas. However he spent too much of his book on on his brain and its flashes. Read more
Review:Always been very interested in Mr. Tesla. To me, the most under-estimated and under-credited inventor of all time. He was very far ahead of his time and very misunderstood. I wish the people back then had been more accepting of his ideas. I was glad to have more knowledge of his life and personality after reading this book. The only flaw was that it sometimes jumped back and forth in time from one chapter to the next. I would have preferred a more chronological structure to the book. Read more

Review:I mistakenly thought I was purchasing the full set of rules such as are available from the government printing office which amounts to close to 200 pages. My fault. What I received is informative and well done though. The description could more clearly indicate this isn't the handbook boat owners are required to carry onboard their vessel. Read more
Review:Luther starts from being a novice cabin-dweller on a northern lake to experienced resident. Separate sections consider tropical afflictions. This is not a DIY for buying every possible water storage device. It should be the text you keep beside you as you evaluate the offerings out there.
I suppose it was necessary to start with descriptions of all the water borne diseases that make us sick. This jeremiad EMPHASIZES finding clean water before you feel dehydration on the third day. And there a... Read more
Review:After having recently read INTO THIN AIR, I am now drawn into the survival genre. Ms. Niven's account of the KARLUK tragedy chronicles the explorer Stefansson's ill-fated expedition and the overwhelming obstacles the survivors faced in the desolate and inhospitable Artic. Not only do the passengers aboard the ship have to face the elements, starvation, and disease, but they are pitted against each other as well. The mix of characters includes ne'er-do-wells, drug addicts, pathological liars, a... Read more
