Review:My friends have recommended this book to me for at least a year now. And since I've had time, I picked it up. I don't read very much, but this is a great book. I love how Donald Miller keeps your attention through stories of his life and adventures he went through. But I also love how real he is about life, and about God and Christianity. I highly recommend this book. I think it is especially appreciated by the younger generation because of his approach to life. It isn't the normal Christian's a... Read more
Review:The Power of Awareness will help you understand the relationship between your consciousness, feelings and subconscious. Neville spells it out clearly in easy to understand language. I recommend reading his book Feeling Is The Secret after The Power of Awareness. If you are like many of us, getting in touch with your feelings is the key. Neville's books can help. 5 Stars all the way. Read more
Review:On January 2nd my husband passed away. I know he is with the Lord, but had a question for my pastor. His response was to do a Bible Study on this book. It has been very helpful for me and so I ordered the book for Kindle and the work book in print. I am sorry to say, I haven't finished the book although I have read a lot of it, because I also have several other books I am reading for homework. But I fully intend to finish the reading and then go back to do the work book as well. It is very... Read more
Review:In discussing this book with my friends and co-workers, I found that they reacted with the same "raised-eyebrow shock" that I did. But what we also shared was the same mis-quided, media driven vision of a person that was suposedly unquestionable. After reading this book, intently I might add, I wanted answers. I want to know where all the donations to Mother Teresa's organiztion has gone because it certainly hasn't gone to the poor. I want to know why Mother Teresa has posed in pictures with... Read more
Review:I thoroughly enjoyed this book. It was the first book that I read by Os Guinness. I really enjoyed his discussion about the "poles of unbelief." People who are outside the Christian worldview and who seek to understand the worldview (as they may any religious worldview) vary to one pole or another (dilemma verse diversion). I thought this was a keen insight by Os. It's apparent that he has interviewed and interacted with those who have questions (and not opinions) about Christianity. He he... Read more
Review:I have never written a book review before but had to on this one. My mom read this and raved about it and encouraged me to pick it up. I did and I am so thankful I did! I bought myself a copy and have encouraged all my friends to read it. After reading this book I was truly inspired to spend more time with the Lord...getting to know Him through His Word. He really is all I have whether I am in a state of plenty or want. And this book was so encouraging to hear the testimonies of how God answered... Read more

Review:John MacArthur is known for his straight-forward approach to the Gospel. In Hard to Believe he is at his best in defending the hard truth of the Gospel. That hard truth is that Jesus "did not die on the cross for us to have a nice day."
Many evangelicals today are enamored with what MacArthur terms Christianity Lite. It's an approach that tends to put the focus on ourselves and to basically use a relationship with Jesus just to make our lives happy. But as MacArthur points out, Jesus ... Read more
