Review:After a short introduction this book sucks you deep into the story. Very quickly you find yourself hanging on every word, waiting for the next realization. An amazingly fast-paced page turner with a very strong plot. Gladly anticipating the second book! Read more
Review:"Confessor" concludes the "Sword of Truth" saga, amazingly four years after the initial installment "Wizard's First Rule", by giving reiterated speeches by the same characters readers are accustomed to spouting the "life is worthy for living" philosophy. Regardless if it is Jennsen, Nicci, Ann, Richard, or Kahlan, the values are interjected at every possible opportunity, whether it is during a torture or a walk thro... Read more
Review:Better. Book 10 captured my attention because we really got to see a lot more of Kahlan and her struggle to remember who she was on her journey with the Sisters of the Dark. By her story becoming the central focus, the reader wasn't subjected to the overbearing speeches that have dominated the last 3 books in the series. It was a refreshing change.
Also, the side story of Richard going off to seek the book left by Baraccus was very good, as was the focus of Nicci. Her development as a cha... Read more
Review:It’s so wonderful to be back in this amazing world that Terry Goodkind created. Following Nicci, Nathan & Bannon on their mission is immensely enjoyable. And -- OMG! -- there are morazeths & agile knives! Read more

Review:Naked Empire is the eighth novel in the Sword of Truth series, following The Pillars of Creation. In the preceding volume, agents of the Emperor Jagang have convinced two other children of Darken Rahl, Oba and Jennsen, that Richard is trying to kill them and smuggles them out of D'Hara to the Old World. During an assasination attempt by Oba, Richard discovers that his half-brother has no magic of his own and is not directly effected by magic. Jennsen is likewise without magic and indifferent ... Review:Great characters in this book. Bellairs gives the reader enough of their quirky and endearing personalities, but doesn't burden the flow of the story with unnecessary amounts of detail. It's appropriate for young readers since the plot moves right along with intriguing developments without too many complex details to mire them. Read more
Review:A god in the shed is a dark horror novel that will take you to the small town of Saint-Ferdinand where the line between reality and Lovecraftian horror is very blurred.
With this book, J-F shows that he is more than able to write a story where there is a lot more going on under the surface than can be seen at first. I was surprised at how often J-F managed to slip some information under my nose without me realizing until he punched the information to the light.

Review:I am a big fan of the writer under her other name and have read many of her series. However, this may very well be my favorite book out of them all!! I cannot wait for more. Zara is a lovable heroine who has had her world turned upside down. The characters are so thought out and no one is perfectly good or perfectly evil. They all have grey like real life. If you love fantasy and steampunk you must check this book out!! Read more
