Review:I think four stars is great, nothing is perfect right? This book is amazing,I would recommend it to those in search of themselves. I only recently started reading the Ender series so I am a bit confused as to what the order of the books it's out there it's any. Regardless I enjoy reading this books. I don't read often but I just can't stop reading the series. Read more
Review:I don't think anyone who has read the series up to this book would really not want to finish the story with this book, it delivers a wonderful, thoughtful, and complex story as you are accustomed to hear from Orson Scott Card. A must get! Read more
Review:Having read "Ender's Game" and "Speaker for the Dead" and enjoying them a lot, I figured this would be a book I liked as well. But I've found it very difficult to read and it loses my interest quickly. I've stopped and re-started reading it several times and still haven't made it all the way through it. Read more

Review:I can't give a review on the whole series. I have just finished Speaker for the Dead. But if the last two books are anything like the first two books then you (and I) are in for a real treat. I'm a big science fiction fan and have to say that Orson Scott Card does an amazing job at showing you everything you want from a great science fiction novel and more. He somehow balances action with individual internal stuggle. And instead of his books being from one person's point of view. You see it from... Read more
Review:I was actually pleasantly surprised by this book. That's not a slight against the author, but I had read many reviews saying the book was only so-so and was lacking in substance and character development. Anyway, I actually very much enjoyed The Alchemyst. I wouldn't say it's in my top 5 or anything, but it makes the list of favorites. I enjoyed all the mythology, although I do think that perhaps there were a few too many myths and legends stuffed in without having too much of a point in bei... Read more
Review:This book irritated me. There were sections I wanted to keep reading to learn the outcome BUT what a dissatisfied ending! To me, the characters were either selfish or in the case of Maria, a big masochist. Come on! Self esteem woman! Short, unexpectedly ridiculous! The alchemist? Excellent- a completely different and satisfying experience. Read more
Review:Thankfully, this book greatly picks up the action in the series, and I found it much more enjoyable than the first book. Instead of needing to introduce the strange, magical world of Nicholas Flamel, Scott focuses more on ramping up the stakes for his characters. The baddies who want to turn humans back into slaves are congregating to work together to bring down Flamel and the twins, but Flamel has friends of his own, who are able to help in fight back in this one.
This book mostly takes... Read more
Review:have seen Elise Kova's name come up a lot lately in the blogging community, but I kept on being like, "yeah, yeah, I'll get to her books one of these days" and I really didn't think I was ever going to get to her books, but that's where my audible subscription comes in handy. The first in her Loom Saga series was part of one of the audible sales, that I ended up getting it and decided to finally start it. And oh man, what a fool I was to dismiss Kova so quickly! She blew me away with the first i... Read more
