Education & Teaching
Review:Nowhere does the description of this book say that it is mainly useful for grades K-8. I'm a high school teacher and can adapt use some of the strategies but would have preferred to save my $40 since it's geared toward elementary students. Read more
Review:This book contains so much information, ensuring that it will cover everything but also hindering its ability to serve merely as a review book. It has so much information that, to some extent, it might as well be a world history textbook. Based on the detailed curriculum that the College Board has on its webpage for AP World History (http://apcentral.collegeboard.com/apc/public/courses/teachers_corner/4484.html?excmpid=MTG243-PR-16-cd), this book may contain too much information. Review:HUGE hit with our granddaughter. Her mom is a teacher and 4 yr grand likes to play school. My mom was a teacher and I played school all the time. Very happy to find it - thought for sure everything had gone digital by now. Read more
Review:Bill Ayers exudes a sensitivity to the child, the teacher and the art of teaching and learning that I have not found anywhere else in literature on education. His intellectual wit and wisdom about the state of education and humanity as a whole is both jolting and hopeful. Review:This book is perfect for my kindergartner. I mostly want him to practice writing and using a pencil as that is what he struggles the most with and the varied activities in this book are great for that. The book itself it small, but it has a good number of different activities. Read more
Review:After homeschooling for a lonnnnggg time, I am so thankful for this beautiful reminder of the way reading g aloud enriches all our lives. So many times, I fall into routines and put off reading aloud as a last priority or don't do it at all. I knew it was good for us, but I didn't realize HOW good it is! I purchased this as an audiobook and I love it that the author is also the narrator! She does a great job drawing you in and making you want to listen to more. I am also going to purchase the ac... Review:My 10-year old daughter first borrowed this CD set from the public library. She listened to it over and over (each night at bedtime). She liked it so much she didn't want to give it back, but there is always a waiting list for it. We decided to buy it for her, and she still listens to it almost every night as she falls asleep. Great story and great reading by Beth MacDonald! I definitely recommend it. Read more
