Review:Several reviewers have already commented on both of the two stories in here. I will still discuss them briefly, but mainly I will focus on how this version differs from the e-books, since I have both e-books as well and was wondering if the extra features in this paperback were worth getting.
The Prince is from Maxon's perspective, and the original e-book version begins with Maxon's birthday, which is shortly before the start of the selection (I believe that from the way it's written, th... Read more
Review:I am addicted to these books! I was given the first one by a friend, read it within the first 24 hours. I promptly ordered my own box series so that I could keep them and re-read them. I'm already on the third book and just got the box yesterday! They are seriously SO good and SO entertaining to read! Love the author's style of writing and love the story-line of the books :) Read more
Review:I'm probably a little biased since I own all of Kiera Cass's books (sometimes in print and ebook). This is a collection of the novella length companion books to the Selection series -- The Queen, The Prince, The Guard, and The Favorite. I enjoyed the additional illustrations to go along with the novellas. There are also sneak peeks to what I assume are future companion novellas Celeste and The Maid. I agree with the other reviewer that said the "After the One" scene is adorable and well wort... Read more
Review:I haven't seen Alex Proyas' film version of this famous science fiction novel---nor do I really plan to, now that I've had a chance to read it. I'd rather not destroy the good memories of reading Asimov's book by watching a movie that, to say the least, hardly does it much justice.
Asimov's book isn't a coherent narrative, so to speak. It is essentially a group of short stories tied together by the framing device of a reporter interviewing a famed robopsychologist named Dr. Susan Calvin, ... Read more
Review:I'll pass on the literary criticism - others have done it well. But as a creative professional I love this work. It is different in a world of sameness. Gripping, yes. Entertaining? Oh yeah. But better than that it is original. Vibrant. Actually interesting. Even if you don't like this genre it will make parts of your brain long-dormant come out for a peek at what's going on. And that is hard to beat. Read more
Review:This was an amazing series that connects both storyline and hearts. I read the Giver when I was younger as a school requirement and read it again as an adult and I've enjoyed it even more. Wonderfully written, I'm now eagerly awaiting if the movie can do The Giver justice. Read more
Review:The writer doesn't' take any risk. Book is too predictable along with the series. I myself did not read these books however my gf who i bought them for did. She was not a fan , although i got her the whole series. She says it was a good read but once you read more of her work you feel as if you're in a cycle where the reader can always predict the authors next move. Read more
Review:I know I typically post stuff like this all the time, but I always mean it when I say I really loved this book. It wasn't the typical "in-between" novel while you wait for the next book to come out. In a way, it felt like it's own series. I can always tell that a book is a good one when I finish it within the day I got my hands on it! Read more
Review:Jack Finney is a compelling writer, but this book left me feeling like I need to read Richard Matheson. It consistently reminded me of the movie "Somewhere in Time". The self-hypnosis. The possessive boyfriend. The Grand Hotel oops...Dakota. It was Somewhere in Time placed in New York with a government project added. Read more
Review:I was very surprised at how well written this book was. You never know what kind of book you will be getting when you order a cheap zombie book. i really enjoyed it and wondered how an apocolypse could happen... Read more
