Review:This comprehensive volume of collected works from the master of the macabre contains not only his most celebrated masterpieces, it also possesses rare collaborations. If you are a serious student of Lovecraft, then this volume will be indespensible to you. There are pieces herein that I have never read before in the years I've been both a fan and scholar of this man's work. From the Cthulhu Mythos to his Dunsanian Dreamland works, everything is contained herein. As a writer of dark fantasy mysel... Read more
Review:This book is the best in the series of short story collections issued by DelRey books, and probably contains the best collection of classic HPL stories available today. Here you have the best and most revered stories from Lovecraft's prime period of creativity. You can clearly see how influential this work has been for all horror fiction that has been written since. Clive Barker and Stephen King are definitely fans, and even movies like "Poltergeist" and "Ghostbusters" are clearly inspired by Lo... Read more
Review:Like all of Klinger's annotated editions, the book looks gorgeous. It's huge and lavishly illustrated. But many of the notations are obvious/superficial and don't show a lot of insight into the author. For example, In footnote #4 to "Haunter of the Dark," it is pointed out that, regarding the death of the writer and painter: "These events were never recorded by Lovecraft." True. BUT they were recorded by Robert Bloch in "The Shambler from the Stars," the prequel to this story. Incredibly, this i... Read more
Review:This book titled Necronomicon was written by H.P Lovecraft . It is all of his stories in one book. His way of writing for his time was unheard of his ventures onto the dark side!!!! Some of his wording in his storys were kind of confusing but that is what a dictionary is for. I recomend this book if you are into stories that are dark and evil. Read more
Review:I've been trying to re-read some of the books of my youth, in part to determine how my perspective has changed over the years. Review:I was disappointed with this book and it was a chore to finish. It seemed like ever so often Ms. Singh would realize the relationship between the characters was just too anemic and she would try to force some passion; then it'd wander back to anemia. Read more
Review:Loved this book. I love where the author is going with the characters. Although I wanted more Elena and Raphael, the story of Janvier and Ash was really good and adding them to the "family" was even better. This series get better with each book. Great read, fun. Read more
Review:While I love the character of Clay, the female lead Talin ruined the story for me. She was whiny, weak, self-centered and selfish; not someone I would have picked for Clay's mate. Coming after book 3 (the story of Judd and Brenna), the best in the series, the weakness of this story was made very clear. Books 1, 2, 3 and 5 are the best in the series. Read more
Review:I did not like not knowing what happened to the people in Christine's book and starting another book immediately this is one of my most unfavorite books that you've ever had. What happened to your people. I didn't even finish the book I scanned it and there was no ending to your store I'm very disappointed. Read more
Review:I love Brandon Sanderson books. He is an excellent author and storyteller. The worlds that he creates are amazing and the characters in them make you want to read more and more about each. This is a great collection of his novellas and introductions/glimpses into some of the worlds of the cosmere. Read more
