Review:This is the King of yesteryear. A very tight book- well conceived and very emotionally captivating. The book is divided into the three sections of very different lengths. The first section is terrific. The second section was interesting but I wasn't sure where it was going (not as riveting as Section 1). And then came the tidy little ending- the last section- which pulled all of those little loose ends together adding a poignant twist that'll bring a tear to your eye. A touch of the old su... Review:Most of the stories in Stephen King's first new collection of short fiction in nine years are pretty darn eventual. Review:I enjoyed this book because there were three short stories. All the stories were great. I like J.D. Robb (Nora Roberts). I have been reading her stories for years and these three are right up there with all of her others. Read more
Review:Contained long glimpses of brilliance. There were a few pieces I simply did not get. Others were scary accurate. Overall, one more experience of the magic that is his writing. I'll have to decide whether to read future DFW on my phone's Kindle app. Hard to maneuver the (essential) footnotes. Read more

Review:I liked the book but it didn't suck me in as fast as ON THE EDGE. It took me three days to read the first half and I almost put it down a few times. I kept checking Amazon reviews and dearauthor to see if I was missing something, lol. I am glad I stuck it out because once it got going it was great and only took about two hours to finish.
The first half of the book mainly contained descriptions of the area, bad guys, and inner thoughts of the characters with not a lot of action. There was ... Read more
Review:Gunmetal Magic is the book 5.5 of the Kate Daniels series featuring side character Andrea Nash in her first stand alone novel. The first novella featuring Andrea Nash was first published in the anthology "Must Love Hellhounds". You don't need to read the novella before reading this book but, it's a fantastic short story. This series takes place in Atlanta, GA after magic has brought all technology and life as we know it to ruins. There are vampires, shifters, magic users, and many other creature... Read more
