Where Men Win Glory: The Odyssey of Pat Tillman
Where Men Win Glory: The Odyssey of Pat Tillman

Review:The likelihood of me picking this book up, let alone reading it were slim to nothing. One evening I stumbled upon the interview with Bill Maher and Pat Tillman's raucous brother, Richard. Richard was brazenly unfiltered, passionate, emotional, and enviably brave when speaking of his brother and offering his position on Pat's life and subsequent death.

I've never moved more swiftly through a book. Not only did it describe an absolutely fascinating man, it illuminated the intricacies of ... Read more

The True Story of the Worst Sea Disaster in U.S. Naval History and the Fifty-Year Fight to Exonerate an Innocent Man
The True Story of the Worst Sea Disaster in U.S. Naval History and the Fifty-Year Fight to Exonerate an Innocent Man

Review:Great story and well written. Enjoyed the back and forth of time segments that helped tell the story in a more encompassing viewpoint. Being from a Navy family I can truly understand the pomposity of Naval Command being obstructive I’m allowing this officer to have his named finally cleared. And what a shame it had to be posthumously! The Admirals at the time of this event in the Pacific theatre should have all been courtmartlialed for their dereliction of duty-resulting in unbelievable sufferin... Read more

An Intergalactic Space Opera Adventure - Renegade Star
An Intergalactic Space Opera Adventure - Renegade Star

Review:Here is a note to Walker, Scott, Kern, Dalzelle, Hadfield, Dresse, Webb and Heppner, This Chaney can flat out write. Try to do what he does, and Alanson does as well. No confusing plots, No boring characters. Just stick to the basics and make it flow like Chaney does. Don't get cute, don't over describe, and avoid large space battles every 33 pages. It's just space opera and it's supposed to be fun and easy. Take a page out of Chaney's book and study it, it will improve your writing and increase... Read more

For We Are Many (Bobiverse) (Volume 2)
For We Are Many (Bobiverse) (Volume 2)

Review:The first book was incredible and the second one builds on that excellence and even improves on it while maintaining the careful balancing act of entertainment and gravity that made the first model so enjoyable. Could not put it down and was genuinely surprised when the last page was flipped. Now to settle in and wait for 3. Read more

The World War I Notebooks of Corporal Louis Barthas
The World War I Notebooks of Corporal Louis Barthas

Review:Poilu is an excellent match with "All Is Quiet on the Western Front". This book is an evocation of one soldier's daily penance in the mud, disease, wounds, and death that was the Western Front from 2014 through 2018. It is amazing that he survived with his sanity. Read more

The Sleepwalkers: How Europe Went to War in 1914
The Sleepwalkers: How Europe Went to War in 1914

Review:This is a very insightful review of how the minds of the politicians, monarchs, and military people functioned when most of Europe was composed of five colonial empires, Russia, Austria-Hungaria, Germany, Great Britain and France. The Great War was all but inevitable, and all five powers contributed to its inception, with the leading role of Russia and France as the instigators, not Germany as we were told. Read more
