After reading the first two of this series I patiently awaited the final edition and was not disappointed. Earth Awakens picked up where Earth Afire left off. It was a good tale which kept me turning pages.

Amazing! Once again OSC has created a world of tense action and political drama! Love the story line and the fact that this book is mature enough to interest adults, yet so clearly written that teens/tweens will also love it.

I only discovered this author recently, yet I see how his mind has many ideas that are interesting an mundane at the same time. Now I will systematically read every book and short story written by him and broaden my own ideas and understand how many authors shape the very fabric of their story they with to convey to everyone.

The characters introduced in the first novel and the story expanded on in the second novel continue in their struggle against the Formics in this third installment. I enjoyed the story but the publisher should be ashamed of their proofreading failures. There were more than a dozen instances of easily caught errors that caused jarring interruptions in my reading.

I've really enjoyed this prequel series to Ender's Game, and each book is intensifying and helping tie the final story together. I anticipate there will be a 4th book to conclude the series, and I can't wait to read!

Awesome story. The book has a wonderful way of getting one to feel for its characters. This one draws the first formic war to a conclusion that keeps the pages turning. I recommend it to any sci-fi reader.

This novel continues in the vein of other science fiction and fantasy novels like
the Hunger Games that refuses to accept adolescents as passive
viewers of adult events. A coming of age story for our hero Bingwen.

Well thought out with strong characterization and dialogue. Particularly like the steppingstone moments behind the Mazer and battle school. Also like the reoccurring theme of strength provided by family (consuming, absent, wanted, or unwanted); the choice is not if we have it but whether we use it to create new connections.

Okay....wait a minute. I think I just learned/realized that this is the FINAL book of the prequel series?
WHAT? I read this book and did not see it as a conclusion AT ALL. There was no 1) Mazer Rackham seeing the moment when he could blow up the ship, 2) no intro into using children as soldiers, 3) no damned closure!
That's it. I'm done reading OSC and his stupid Ender series. I've been reading this guy since I was a child - I looked forward to one day reading about the Formic battle for earth. And this is what we get?
I am beyond disappointed. Maybe I'm wrong, but there is no mention anywhere of a 4th book to this series. And the ending was a cliffhanger. So what the heck?

Seemed less compelling and fast reading as Earth Unaware. The level and sophistication of the writing (e.g, in terms of subtlety or being thought provoking) also lacking compared to other books in the Ender universe.
