Origin Series Box Set (1-4) (Star Force Universe)
Origin Series Box Set (1-4) (Star Force Universe)

Review:Kind of like "Stargate" on steroids.... without the wormholes but with an inimical technologically advanced race to worry about. If you prefer that your sci-fi have a touch of plausibility, this one's for you. I'm off to binge read the next few. Read more

Forgotten (The Forgotten Book 1)
Forgotten (The Forgotten Book 1)

Review:I loved this book and am seriously bummed that I cannot dive straight away into book 2! I picked it up and read straight through (who needs real life anyway?) especially with great characters, an interesting storyline, aaannddd a cliffhanger. Great sci-fi and a totally fun read! Read more

Box Me Up and Ship Me Home - If I Die in a Combat Zone
Box Me Up and Ship Me Home - If I Die in a Combat Zone

Review:I think this is an average book, although quite honest from the Author. I have heard a lot of Tim O'Brien but this is the first book I read of his. It is much more an anti-war book then a war book. In this account anyway, I find the Author's arrogance towards other soldiers who he calls GI's although I hadn't heard that term in reference to someone in the Army since WWII. I might not have heard it due to where I served in the Marines, small, remote areas in and near the DMZ. And my experience do... Read more

The Outsider: My Life in Intrigue
The Outsider: My Life in Intrigue

Review:I felt it meandered along, not necessarily the writers fault, but because I have been a loyal fan of his cracking good stories based on faction, the life Mr Forsyth has led was almost an anticlimax. I am certain he has one or two good stories left in him and I will definitely look forward to purchasing them but unfortunately for me this was not one of them. Read more

Time for the Stars
Time for the Stars

Review:Classic Heinlein Juvenile. Read it when I was a bit younger then I am now and every now and then I read it again. Gives an interesting insight into the rivalry between twins with a side story of traveling to the stars. Read more

Space Cadet
Space Cadet

Review:Follow young Matt Dodson as he enters the academy in hopes of becoming a Space Cadet. Matt makes friends with Tex, who always has amusing tales about his Uncle Bodie, and a few others, as lessons are learned ... usually the hard way.

Space Cadets are the elite guard of the solar system. They accept missions others fear, take risks no others dare, and uphold the peace of the solar system for the benefit of all. (Much like the Jedi Order!) This novel will take you from Earth, to Mars, to Ve... Read more

Methuselah's Children
Methuselah's Children

Review:I feel like a grain of sand reviewing a Heinlein novel! I do like his " this is the way it is" tone, but find the plot lines jolting! The future of Methuselah's Children is technologically advanced, but this leads to overly explained space flight that is tedious. If you love the unexpected, however, get ready for the bumpy ride! Double Star
Double Star

Review:By Robert Heinlein! What more needs to be said? A story of a down-on-his-luck actor who is shanghaied into posing as a lunar statesman who has been kidnapped by nefarious forces. I re-read it every five years or so. It's that good! Read more

Review:This is my FAVORITE HEINLEIN book, 2nd Only to GLORY ROAD!! For those who condemn this work, perhaps they haven't grasped all the concepts behind it? Although it is true that Heinlein's early works are his best, this IS ONE OF HIS BEST BOOKS, BAR NONE! I first read this book over 20 years ago, not long after it was first published, and I am HAPPY to read it again today in July 2010! I have give COUNTLESS paperback copies of this book to friends throughout the years, as it is one story I most... Read more

Podkayne of Mars
Podkayne of Mars

Review:As a Heinlein fan and a lover of classic sci fi, I was happy to find this (especially after having seen all the good reviews). Then oh so disappointed. This is basically the diary of a young Martian lady, her younger brother occasionally adds comments. The story starts out inane and repetitive, then becomes dismally boring and finally just dismal. If anyone else had written it, I would not have bothered to finish. What a waste of time and money. Read more
