On the Decay of the Art of Lying
On the Decay of the Art of Lying

Review:Read this short essay waiting in my doctor's office and laughed the whole way. For those of us who think they never lie, think again! Mark Twain has an interesting way of defining the lie, which makes us all guilty! Fun to read and makes you think a lot about the way we humans interact with one another. Read more

Review:This is a work of genius and should have been spellchecked, proofread and someone should have had the respect to add the plates to Kindle. A disrespectful Kindle edition. Needs much more work to be useable for research. Why not make it cost something? People would still get it. Read more

Review:I read the Everyman's Library Glenny Translation.

This is a mixture of the bizarre and the familiar. The writing itself is a bit of both, the story subject is a bit of both and the characters are a bit of both. I thoroughly enjoyed the 'flashbacks' and almost wish the whole story was just those events, but I also enjoyed the chaotic and seemingly random way the modern part of the story developed, not that I even fully understood it all, mayhaps a second read is in order. It is not a di... Read more

Review:He does an interesting job of portraying that era but he is so wordy. I could say in a few words what it takes him a whole
paragraph to express. You have to go back to try to figure out what is his intent. I guess people are impressed by that but
I find it irritating.
You just asked me if I had anything else to add -- no, I'm a person of few words (see above) Read more

Review:Siobhan Davis quickly won me over with her Saven series, and since then I’ve always been excited to pick up more of her work. She is one of the few authors I’m willing to step outside of my comfort zone with. When she moved from writings young adult science fiction to new adult contemporary, I was worried. Fortunately, I had no reason to fear. Thus, I told myself I was more than happy to embark upon a journey of her first standalone novel. I know some will argue the later Kennedy Boys novels are... Review:This is a wonderful story about a family that had unconditional love, most of the time, for each other. The title fits this story perfectly! Enjoyed how the author developed the characters making me feel as if I knew them, I felt their pain & their joy! This story did bring me to tears toward the end. A little too wordy & descriptive in places, also the proof reader missed a lot.. Very upset with Olivia telling Sarah’s secret and never apologizing! Still highly recommend reading ??.... Read more

Review:Stanley Morgan is looking for love. all.in.the.wrong.places.

How does an ordinary, nice guy find his soulmate? He's already been burned but determined to find the love of his life.

You can't help but become emotionally invested in Stanley's quest for love. You really want him to find someone. The characters he meets both on his way to Russia and while he is there are pretty crazy. I kept groaning over his lack of discernment with women in different situations.

I've been want... Read more
