Mystery
Review:A good detective story. Relatable characters. The setting is 1900 San Francisco and Isabelle (Bel) is a strong female protagonist. The plot has lots of surprises and the backfill history is done well. I hope Flynn continues the series with Detective Riot and Bel. Read more
Review:This is one of the best audio book reads of all time. I have listened to many audio books and been bored. This is the first audio book that I have ever listened to that has made me want to buy the Audio book first over the Paperback. Read more
Review:I've read most of Margaret Coel's Wind River Wind River Mysteries, and this one is the usual great read. Ms. Coel is a master of ambience; I felt the cold and challenging winter weather on the high plains and mountain country. As usual, her characters are complex and believable. She is a historian, so she includes some actual history as experienced by an experienced and a novice historian. The plot was fine tool Read more
Review:I love JE Rain's Samantha Moon series so thought I would read something else he wrote. I could not put it down. He writes so well and draws you into the characters so that you feel like you know them, and fall in love with them a little. Please read this fantastic story...you won't regret it. Read more
Review:I have always loved Karin Slaughter's characters and that is what kept me reading this book. However, it was too graphic in its description of rape, torture, and family grief for me. I ended up skimming through to get to the end. I'm afraid I'll have to delete this from my device. I really would recommend that no one read this. It was like a horror story. Read more
Review:I must start by saying that I love horror stories. One of my favorite genres, so I was expecting to like this book considerably. But I didn't, and I'm trying to figure out why. Perhaps it is too realistic. Meaning, horror usually has an element of the improbable, but this story seems like it could happen anytime, anywhere. Given that aspect, what happens to Meg seems like torture porn. A voyeuristic observation of the terrible. Why is reading about it somehow better than watching the real thing ... Read more
Review:This was a very suspenseful book that kept me in its grip from the first page to the last.
I am one of those people who figures out "who done it" very early on.( I've been told its sometimes annoying that I normally figure out the p!ot and the twist early on- can you imagine? )Well, with this novel I had to wait my turn. I had ideas, then new evidence would pop up and send me on another road. Very good story. Entertaining for sure, I really enjoyed it. Read more
