Review:Another great read from this series! I have fallen in love with all the characters and hope there is more in the future after the last one. If he keeps pumping them out, I will keep reading them! They are like looking into a window at your disfunctional famuly. Read more
Review:I received a free copy of Our Endless Numbered Days from the publisher in return for an honest review.
I wasn't sure what to expect from this one, the premise caught my attention and it turned out to be a pretty intense and vivid read.
The story is told completely from the main character Peggy's point of view and is split into two different intertwining storylines: the summer of 1976 when her father takes her away from all she knows, and 1985 when she's older and has returned home.... Read more
Review:Anne Enright uses her compelling and unique Irish voice to tell the story of a large Irish family, individually and collectively haunted by its past.
The Gathering refers to the wake that follows the death of Liam, a once-beloved brother and son, whose potential was never realized. Liam's sister, Veronica, examines his senseless death, telling the story of this "embarrassingly" large family by uncovering some of its demons. Veronica narrates from the various perspectives of her present p... Read more
Review:I read for entertainment and I found this novel to be very engaging. The references to Andrew Wyeth and Christina's World were appreciated as I read and even more so a week later when I saw the current Blue Man Group show which features Christina's World. I liked learning a little about how art can have an impact on an Alzheimer's patient. Read more
Review:Thank you Annabelle Bryant for writing a fantastic novel, especially this historical romance that I love to read.It is a passionate, captivating love story that sucks you in from the first page. Review:Really good read! I highlighted many parts in my kindle. Well written, deep and thoughtful. Halfway through, I thought I'd figured it out, but I hadn't. So keep reading it as if no one was a schizophrenic. Read more
Review:Classic satire of the American businessman and capitalist culture in general. As one earlier reviewer here states: "shockingly modern". I was drawn to this book after hearing Joseph Campbell quote Babbitt in the "Power of Myth" video series: "I've never done a single thing I've wanted to in my whole life!", Babbitt tells his son at the end of the novel. He's hoping that his son will be strong enough not to turn into him, and it's a quintessential moment because it's simultaneously sad and up... Read more
Review:I am reading my way through the John Sandford Prey series and they are very good books. I would say that David Baldacci and others are better but Sandford is still a great writer, it is a great series and great writing. Read more
Review:Cleo is most definitely an interesting person! She not only has an - interesting - mom! I loved the scene where the family is around the dinner table and just like the commercials everyone becomes silent when dad speaks. Poor Cleo has had a tough time with relationships in the past, but, something happens when she meets Mark in person! Granted she has been fantasying about him for awhile so when she gets the chance to be with the real thing she is blown away! However, she overhears something the... Read more
Review:One of the things that I really, really love about this series is that while the bad guys are shown - with enough detail for us to know how awful they really are - the story doesn’t get bogged down telling their story. The focus is where it should be - on the Bunker gang! Read more
