This book, along with "What Your 6th Grader Needs To Know" taught me, in bare-bones terms, the necessary points of each subject. The Literature/Language Arts section is worth the price of the book in itself, because it gave a synopsis of some of the greats of literature (most of which I was never required to read as a youngster). Review:I bought this for our 2nd grader, midway through the year. Some of what is in the book he is learning this year, but most is representative for 3rd grade curriculum. It covers many different areas, so if you are looking for one book to do it all, this is a great one. It's big, so I like that you can easily tear out pages if you would like.
