Review:This booklet is full of information that is so needed today. Our
society should be taught Washington's civility. I am proud to
have this material and to pass it on to family and friends.
Washington's rules of civility and decent behavior in company
should be required reading in schools. Read more
Review:Great book! Full of inspiration for the classroom. As a reading teacher, this provides me hope that I can be a Book Whisperer, too! I enjoyed this so much that I immediately ordered Donalyn's other book- Reading In The Wild. So far, just as good or better. Read more
Review:Paul Mooney is one of my favorite comedians...so this book was a must read. I did not know what to expect, but I should have known that Paul Mooney would absolutely keep it real, keep it truthful and keep it funny. The man is awesome and the book reveals the layer below the surface. I have seen Mooney live before and witnessed his realness make a few audience members walk out. After reading the book, I now know why he does that. Not saying that I agree, but I do understand.

Review:Riley has a hot as coals man in her life named Finn who doesn't believe much she says. But what a fire they have together. Best book I've read in a while. Loved every moment, every twist and turn looking for the money. But loved the hot flying sparks between these two. Goodness if he was only real and belonged to me. Read more
Review:Great intro into the subject of Stoicism. Would recommend for novices or those who merely want to brush up on the topic with some light reading. Provides a watered down yet encompassing examination of the subject from a modern standpoint. Read more
Review:SOCIAL SCIENCE & THE POLITICS OF MODERN JEWISH IDENTITY by Michael B Hart, ISBN 0804738246, Stanford U Press (Stanford Studies In Jewish History & Culture), published 2000, covers essentially the same material as Prof MacDonald but from a self-interested Jewish perspective. I saw it advertised in Commentary magazine. I will not repeat the (positive) material re: Culture of Critique by the other reviewers. COC's main disadvantage is its sheer dictionary-sized length. I have suggested Prof... Read more
Review:In an age in which everything is dominated by intellectual work, the smarter people are doing better than the less smart. Surprise, and it looks like genes play a HUGE ROLE in how smart one is. The Nazi's would have used these results of this study to support their efforts to breed a master race. But, let us not forget that America in the 30's was sterilizing imbeciles to stop the breeding of idiots! Smart kids are identified early, given better training, and they end up with better educatio... Read more
Review:This is an elegant presentation of one of the most solidly supported theories in science. "The Science Guy" shows us clear, objective, abundant evidence for evolution, despite the often hostile rejection of these truths by much of American culture. It is as beautiful and awe-inspiring a story of the origins of life as those found in any mythology or religious doctrine. Read more
Review:This book is just stuffed with interesting thoughts and perspectives that are wonderful to consider and discuss. Not everyone will agree with all of them, but the ideas are well-presented and argued. Very enjoyable read. Read more
