Review:I've been very happy with all the Pathfinder resources that I've purchased. The books seem sturdy. The artwork is good. The content is good. The presentation of the material in this book is very good. Flipping through the pages made me remember looking through the original monster manuals when I first got those in the 80s. Good stuff. Review:OMG Incredible VALUE here!! I got this for around $20 USD and have had more than 20 hours of playtime with it. The components are top-quality and you can also download other small adventures from Paizo's website. Amazing value for what you get, much much much better than the DnD Starter Set IMO. You can't go wrong with this beginner box. Read more
Review:Truly 5 star writing? Probably not, but I've read this title easily 15 times between 1989 and now! Odds are pretty good that after you finish, you'll go on to the legends series about Raistlin and Caramon. Read more
Review:One of the classic adventures returns to 5th Edition. This book has high production values, well worth it. A big plus is that the book is "campaign setting neutral", which means that it does NOT depend on being located in some Forgotten Realms or Sword Coast campaign. The writing and content is top notch. But that's not a surprise since this book was co-written by the authors of the original Ravenloft D&D adventure from the 1980s. Read more
Review:Absolutely gorgeous book, with very high production values; many of the illustrations and maps are new and re-interpretations of some of the classic adventure modules from the history of D&D from 1st edition, (Against the Giants) to 5th, (Dead in Thay). This book is undoubtedly a love letter from Wizards of the Coast to the original Greatest Hits of D&D, and deserves to be on the shelf of any gaming enthusiast. Read more
Review:Admittedly, I haven’t read through this book in its entirety. As an elf and gods found, I mainly focused on chapter 2, as I had been hearing rumors about lore changes, and I wanted to read it for myself. And I am coming away with mixed feelings. There are some significant lore changes that override a lot of previous lore. I realize this book is not Faerun-specific, but they still changed a lot. Yes, I am one of *those* people who care about the lore of the setting. To me, it isn’t just fluff you... Read more
Review:I was genuinely pleased with the quality of this set when it arrived. I've been trying to get back into TRPGs for years, and I think 5e will be the version that makes that possible. For the price, you get a sturdy box with fantastic art and room to store additional supplements (or a printed copy of the free pdf from the WOTC website), some very nice dice, a basic ruleset to introduce you to roleplaying, a lengthy and well organized adventure, and some pre-generated characters.
