My Rating: 2½/5 stars
My Review:
BAH!!! I find it difficult to turn down a book that has a psychiatric element to it and that is exactly what drew me to The Dead House. Unfortunately, I found the read to be a mixed bag of good and not so good. Here’s the breakdown:
What I liked:
*I like the format of the book. The story is told not so much through the characters but through the evidence left behind by the charac... Read more
Review:This world is unique and fascinating. The characters live, breathe and evolve for you. I own a library of books and this author is refreshing. I'm so delighted to find this world she's created. You need to get through at least two books to find the rhythm and pace, which I find delightful because too many authors write in a way that screams template. That said, the first book was a breath of fresh air and the second just built on everything. Hmmm more please! Read one and interest is there, read... Read more
Review:Read some good reviews bout this book, so I decided to give it a try. Started off pretty well but quickly disintegrated into weird, disjointed and not engaging. Pushed through to the end - mediocre at best. Life is too short to ready crappy books. Read more
Review:As many other reviews have said I'm only disappointed in the fact that the spelling and grammar seemed to be really sloppy.. One of the down sides of Authors having so many series out at the same time. They rush their books and makes several mistakes. Some would argue, "this is why they have an editor." Well, that editor didn't do a good job did they.. Now a book that could've easily been 5 stars was dropped down because of things that could have been easily fixed if given the time her other boo... Review:If you like epic journeys (like Bored of the Rings), this could be the book for you. I don't, so take this review for what it's worth.
The story is well-written and the characters are very well fleshed out. Like most epic journey stories, this one plods from one minor incident to another as the heroes make their way to their goal of battling a "noble dragon" (as opposed to a lesser dragon). We have the usual mix of humans, elf, dwarf, and a "dark" elf, each with his/her particular talents... Read more
Review:The Cabinet of Curiosities is the third novel in the Agent Pendergast series. I am a huge fan of this series and this is the 2nd time I'm reading this novel. I started reading this series before I bought my first Kindle and I thought that it was time to add it to my Kindle library. What makes these stories unique is that Agent Pendergast is not your usual FBI agent. He is a wealthy Southern born gentleman with a knack for finding and solving very unusual cases in very unusual ways. This one in p... Read more
Review:I like all the special Ops series, they where all very good, the fight with the drug cartel and the killer that was trying murder the some of special Ops group family. I was sad to see it finished. Read more
Review:This book was absolutely one of the worst excuses for literary effort since Cather in the Rye (yes, that's an insult). It saddens me that a theme with such potential could be so maliciously bastardized by an author who had obviously little business tackling the whole concept. I think the worst thing about the whole book was how unreal the characters were. It's like, TOM: Honeey, I'm psychic. ANNIE: My God, you're right! That's pretty much the first 100 pages in a nutshell. The character's a... Read more
Review:An ancient prophesy fortells the coming of "Witch". A young girl suddenly displays strange powers. She is "Witch" and everybody wants to kill her. Miraculously she survives. (This plot is repeated through books 2 and 3).
The plot is the usual generic fantasy kind (which is not bad in itself... but I'm increasingly attracted to books that try and challenge the norms of the genre). The "rules" of the fantasy world that the plot occurs in are novel but not well explained and one gets h... Read more
Review:This was a terrible book. Obviously they are trying to cash in on the real Stephen King's name. Even copying the style of his book covers. The writing was the babbling of a 10 year old, and the stories so mundane and overused. Please don't get taken in by this scam. Read the real Stephen King if you want quality, well thought out writing and stories. Read more
