Review:This book was well-written I enjoyed the characters. I liked the heroine in the story and loved that she was strong enough to not need a man but still girly enough to enjoy one lol. Steady paced with some nice action. Read more
Review:I was delighted with this book. It was vintage "Rice". She is back! I was pleased to see some of our old friends again especially the Mayfair family and of course our old friend Lestat. This was so much better than her last couple of books. I am anxious to see where "Quinn and Rowan" go from here. I finished the book yesterday and hated that it was over.
Great book. Read more
Review:Well, Anne can certainly Spin a grand tale that keeps you turning those pages faster and faster. The subject kept me right up to the very end, then I don't know what the hell happened. I did love her interpretation of God. Someone you can't wait to meet and be with. Jesus on the way to the cross was another superb interp. I felt that she gave so much to the main part of the book that she just so sort of dwindled away. Maybe I lost my focus, but I couldn't wait to see what happened and how ... Read more
Review:I had purchased this book a couple times online and the quality of the books were very poor. I was extremely happy when I opened the package and the book look like it was brand new!!! Another piece to my collection completed. Read more
Review:This is Bruce P. Grether's review, though my partner's name appears on my reviews here for reasons known only to the Amazon software!
When the astonishing, elegant, and relentless Anne Rice published THE WOLF GIFT earlier this year, I was transported, as always by her remarkable prose. The new Man Wolf Saga (she tells us the next one comes in 2013) whetted my appetite to return to her magnificent Vampires.

Review:As always, Anne Rice does not disappoint her readers. After finding she had written more than the original Vampire Chronicles when I came across Blackwood Farm, of course I had to continue that story in Blood Canticle. I don't think there was a moment that I did not enjoy. I can sit with Anne's books in my lap for hours on end and forget the world around me. Read more
Review:I really appreciated Virginia's kindness. I love the wildness of the twins. The Minister and his wife were great with their matter of fact advice to the ghost. Sir Simone, It resonated with me for his longing for forgiveness. Read more
Review:It seems to 'fast forward' through a lot of interesting points. The Drae's aren't explained very well and once chapter one is done with the entirety of the plot seems to want to go superfast. Good for a brief read but would not pick up a second time. Read more
Review:In fact, this whole book was pretty boring. It jumped from character to character, then back again. None of them are very memorable, and many lasted only long enough to be eaten. I'm not sure about continuing this series; I may give book 2 a try if I run out of other things to read in this genre. That being said, thus far, I can't recommend this book. Read more
Review:Would probably not advise anyone else to do that. But it did add to the overall atmosphere of this book. Most of the novel was intriging, but I felt the last few chapters were terribly out of synch with the beginning? A twist, yes, everyone loves a twist, but it needs to be done very, very well and I don't feel this was done as well as it could have been. Read more
