It seems to 'fast forward' through a lot of interesting points. The Drae's aren't explained very well and once chapter one is done with the entirety of the plot seems to want to go superfast. Good for a brief read but would not pick up a second time.

I love, love, LOVED this book! It was definitely darker than something I would normally read, but it was surprisingly fantastic! I am DYING to read the next one, but it doesn’t come out until February 2018... how will I go on?

I loved this book. The story keeps you interested from start to finish. I’ve already read through the first two books and am waiting impatiently for the third. Very refreshing. Can’t say enough good things about it!
Twin Souls (The Nevermore Series - Book 1) - A Free Vampire Book :: The Deepest Cut (The MacKinnon Curse Book 1) :: Poems to Learn by Heart :: and Loss - Fairy Tale Interrupted - A Memoir of Life :: A YA Dystopian Romance (A Dream Travelers Series - The Reverians Book 1)

Super good plot line that kept me interested throughout the whole book!!! It was a nice combination of "Eragon" and action packed romance that I always love to read.
Overall great read that keeps you up until the early hours reading non stop !!!

Raye Wagner and Kelly St. Clare did an amazing job on “Blood Oath”, the first book of The Darkest Drae series. From page one my attention was captured. I was a little surprised by how much torture Ryn goes through and how dark the book is when I first starting reading. The torture and violence is not in great detail and adds so much to the story. It’s necessary for the character growth of Ryn and allows us to meet important support characters of the story. Lord Irrik, the dragon shifter, is a complex character and well written, half the time I don’t like him and the other half I’m cheering for him. Overall the story was written well and keeps your attention. There is great character development of all characters. The ending has a few twists and turns that will have your surprised and yearning for the next book. I highly recommend this book. Definitely worth the read.

I started this book, and I was really enjoying it. The characters were enjoyable and the story was good. But as soon as the dungeon and torture started, I was just so bored. It went on and on and on... and then the fields, on and on and on. I realise some of it was important to the story, but sheesh. It just killed the flow for me and at times I did struggle.

Because of this I'm not sure if I want to continue with the series. I do like the story, but if there is anymore painful, repetitive, monotony, I don't know whether I can deal.

The other reviewers took the words right out of my mouth! I'm pre-ordering the second one as soon as I am done leaving my review.

If you're looking for good, clean, gripping YA paranormal fantasy, then this is for you. I have loved everything I've read by Raye Wagner, but first time with Kelly St. Clare. I will have to look for more of hers as well.

I appreciated that things were wrapped up well enough that I didn't feel tricked into needing to get the next book — even though I will!

Good grief this book was bad. Every action that occurred to the main character produced four or five more sentences of painstaking awful prose describing how she felt about it. No one thinks like that in what is supposed to be a fast moving novel. It was like an eight year old girl shouting nineteen at me, or an author who wants to try and impress an editor by showing fancy words off.

Avoid this book at all costs.

A fantastic first book! There are some dark places that are lightened by humor. Ryn is a young girl living is ignorant bliss until everything comes crashing down around her. Lies come to light. Who is she? What is she? So many questions but no easy answers are forth coming. The truth is said to set you free, but in this book and in this land the truth is a death sentence.

This was an interesting fantasy read. Don't expect anything earth shattering, it followed the same basic path as The Hunger Games/Sarah J. Maas's novels, but without the depth and emotional complexity. It was just okay, if a little immature. I ordered the sequel.

I love both of these authors separately. Together I am super fan girling! Blood Oath is quite a journey. I have read it three times and each time I find something new. There are twists and surprises around every corner. I absolutely will preorder book two and I'm sure it will be just as good, if not better than this one (which would be quite a feat).
