Review:Should be titled “How to Draw Perfect-Looking White People”. Some nice sketches from the 1940s but it’s ridiculously focused on clean, pretty white people. One page of vaguely Latino looking men called “Characterization” Oh and one page of “Grandmothers” that look 75 yrs old+ otherwise all the women are under 30. Yikes. It’s from 1943 but still- ? Many other texts are much much better. Will probably return. Read more
Review:I almost gave it four stars because Sharyl Attkisson should have included things like the media's coverage of 9/11 (and the evidence that refutes the conclusions shared by the media), but there are so many important things in this book nonetheless that it must be shared so I gave it five stars anyway. It truly is exceptional, and as no book is truly worth five stars, this is my biggest endorsement. Read more

Review:How to keep it working optimally. I was aware of some of the techniques he discusses for enhancing brain function but was blown away by many of the insights and techniques he discusses that I didn't know about. One important change I have made in my lifestyle from reading this book is to exercise more to keep the brain happy and fit.
Absolutely NO reservations about recommending this book to anyone (at any level of knowledge about the brain) interested in learning about your most comple... Read more
Review:The first five stories are fantastic, but the rest have nothing to do with The King in Yellow or the Yellow Myth. They're not even Horror. Though well written, I totally believe that combination is just a horrible idea and ruins the experience for those who come to this book to be scared or, at the very least, challenged to think. Review:I very seldom write reviews for the Kindle books I read. However, I had to make an exception for "Sleepers"! This was absolutely the best book I have read in a long time. Although this true story was shocking and touching, the author also made me laugh as he recounted his experiences in his Catholic school and the interaction with his friends. My heart goes out to all who had to endure such atrocities while incarcerated. I wish this would be made in to a movie. Read more
Review:As a businessperson I was so excited for this book which was supposed to be about how a kid builds a business. I thought it would be fun and explain some lessons along the way, that kids could take to heart. I intended to share it with my son and daughter who are about the same age as the protagonist.
And it was well written and engaging enough as stories go. And it was nice and short, so as not to scare kid readers.
But the story was a TERRIBLE example. The kid starts off work... Read more
