Review:This edition is a cheap photocopy of the text only of the "Original Volland Edition" and does not contain any illustrations! Most of the other reviews here are for the hardcover edition, which apparently includes illustrations. I was very disappointed that this was not more obvious. What a Rip-Off with a big R! I'm going to see what I can do to report this and/or return it. Read more
Review:Jasper Fforde has a unique way of looking at things. The mixture of the familiar, and somewhat bland for those of us with knowledge of some of the settings, with the outrageously bizarre is the hallmark of this author. Those who have read any of the nursery crimes or Thursday Next books will not be disappointed Read more
Review:Mythology is another addition to the Ologies series of books. This book has been written from the perspective of a historian, with comments of a man searching for artifacts. Mythology is a great read as an introduction into Greek mythology. The stories are exciting and to the point without needing to dig through an entire Epic story. This book is great for kids or adults hoping for a little inspiration into the Greek myths of the past. If you are already an Ology fan, it's a great book to a... Read more
Review:book 2 in the series, Hiccup learns that the popularity he earned from saving Berk from the Sea Dragon is shot lived. He and his fellow Vikings are being taught how to be pirates (it involves things like fighting at sea, spitting, and basic burglary) when they discover a coffin containing a man named Alvin the Poor-but-Honest Farmer and a riddle to the treasure of Grimbeard the Ghastly, an ancestor of Hiccup's who is viewed as the world's greatest pirate. Yet another person Hiccup can't quite se... Read more
Review:My family is reading this series aloud before bed every night. The stories are wonderful and the characters are much more rich and complex than those on screen, which is a shame for the latter. That said, I highly recommend this series to anyone with even a passing interest.

Review:Though I must admit I was a little exasperated to learn this is STILL not the last book, I read this with as much gusto as I enjoyed the previous books in the series. Ms. Cowell's storytelling and writing skills are as strong as ever, making this a thoroughly enjoyable novel that is certain to please current fans. Though I felt this had a little too much plot in too little time, in general this is just what I've come to expect from Ms. Cowell and these books: humor, quirkiness, excitement, ac... Read more

Review:This story is a clash between two worlds. The Kingdom of Fantasy, an of course, our friend, Geronimo Stilton. Geronimo is sucked into this world, and he goes on this quest, through many different domains in the kingdom of Fantasy. I have based many of my books on this story. Read more
Review:Some folks were born to be different from everyone around them no matter how hard they try to fit in.
What a creative premise! As soon as I read the blurb, I couldn’t wait to find out why a family of narwhals gave birth to a baby unicorn and what would happen to Kelp once he realized that he wasn’t like anyone in his community. The beauty of this premise lay in how many ways it can be read. It worked both as a charming fairy tale as well as an example of how to live happily for children w... Read more
