Our heroine Jessamyn Jaarda wants to be a pilot more than anything, so she can fly the raiding missions to Terra and do important and adventurous things. At the start of the novel Jess is a rule-breaker, whose biggest concern is her alter-abled brother Ethan's mental comfort and getting a piece of ice for her Mom's second birthday gift (everyone has two birthdays a year due to Mars' different rotation cycle from Earth). But when she is suspended from the ... Read more
Review:My 9 year old niece & were in need of a good bed time read when we found this gem. It was the perfect length, it had lovely illustrations and a good morale to the story. We like to take turns reading pages and with this book there was no trouble in doing that for my niece. Read more
Review:A good first book, returning to the land of the Moties and the Mote in God's Eye. Enjoyed the story, particularly the Arab influence and styles of Asach.
SPOILER ALERT for those who have not read the Mote in God's Eye and The Gripping Hand.
This book entices, yet it takes some time to understand the major revelation. The premise of the first two books was the hyper-kinetic biology of the Moties. It drove and created and defined the species. Yet the Moties on this planet apparen... Read more
Review:I love Gitanjali and needed to replace my worn out copy. I returned one to Amazon because it was so badly designed as to be hard to read. This one is only somewhat better. All the poems are run together as though it is one big prose piece. I kept it because I was tired of shopping, but I'm disappointed. Read more
Review:The company's service was good, but the book itself was full of printing errors. A large speech was absent at the end, and I caught that only because I'd looked it up; the ending made no sense without it. There was also computer code on the pages here and there in the middle of text. I definitely don't recommend this publisher's version of the book. Read more
Review:Free book on Grimm's stories, what's not to like? I urge everyone out there before buying a copy of any older classic (Dracula, Grimm's, Pride and Prejuidice) to look for a free version. The books are considered public domain and can be found for free rather than buying them. Amazon has free copies of loads of public domain books. Please check before you pay! Read more
Review:this is one of the best prestories I have read. You can follow the storyline hinted at in previous books in the honor Harrington series. Great storyline great characters and the best explanation of the tree society yet. Read more
Review:the book is good in the fact that it smoothly continues the treecat saga and young stephanie through the aftermath of the fires that ravaged some of the planet. It is an almost seamless transition, but would do fine as a stand-alone. Read more

Review:I liked the characters and story line, it is a great start to a space opera saga type series, the only thing that let it down was the editing, but only in a small way. I cannot wait for the follow up. Read more
