Review:The Great Influenza is fascinating for most part. The beginning is a bit slow, with a history of medicine and how it was just changing into science at the beginning of the 1900s. But then it picks up speed and tells the story of the 1918 flu. The role that politics and the 1st World War played in the spread of that flu surprised me, circumstances that will probably not recur. Review:Great, short nursing vignettes that make this a quick and easy read when you only have a short amount of time. Reminds me of the Chicken Soup Series...as there are short nursing stories that engage the reader and then can easily be put down. Purchased as a gift for a newly greaduated nurse...and it was well received and appreciated. Read more

Review:Odd Girl Out is an extremely thorough treatise on girls using relationship as a weapon against other girls and the lasting impact it can have on them. The author not only interviews numerous girls (3rd - 8th grade students), but also tells the stories of many women who experienced the painful situation of being a victim from a former best friend.
