Review:The person I bought this for (22 just graduated from College) wasn't too impressed. However, his younger brother (20 in college) told me he appreciated it because many of his classmates in music school would fit in this category. My thinking that in the work world it's helpful to know how to interact with the multitude of folks that fall under this label. Read more
Review:If there are other books out there that are capable of revolutionizing your life I may not be aware but this book certainly will. I am now on the self-realization journey and feel more empowered than I ever have in the past due to insight and teachings of Sadhguru. Read it so you till will be equipped to make the inward journey that is so very much needed in today's world. Read more
Review:This book had some good examples and memorable stories that demonstrated the points he was trying to make, however I would have liked more practical exercises to use with students or clients on how to improve their willpower and self control. Read more
Review:This book is short as many reviewers point out. However, it is not short on wisdom. In fact, it is loaded with powerful insights, analogies and examples that illustrate universal truths. It also embraces the reality of mystery and paradox. It doesn't try to explain them away and encourages the reader to avoid killing the "alivenss" of the world by putting too many things in boxes (i.e. concepts). Review:Nathalie Goldberg's "Writing Down the Bones: Freeing the Writer Within" is an excellent read. If you are a writer or an aspiring writer this is a must read and one that you will find yourself going back to again and again. Read more
Review:I wish I could convince everyone who avoids older literature to read Candide. This book is hilarious, dark, bitter, snide, and beautiful. If you love Vonnegut novels, you will likely enjoy Candide. The satire from yesteryear is just as applicable to the personal and political interactions of mankind today. Read more
Review:A great little satire filled with wit, sarcasm and ultimately distress. Candide lives a life of artificial optimism which ultimately turns to distress, rejection of religion and a decision to "cultivate one's garden". Candide Finds an idyllic place called El Dorado and leaves there a very wealthy man only to slide to near poverty. A delightful and thoughtful novel well worth the small investment of time. Read more
Review:I have valued "The Cost of Discipleship" for years and most certainly consider it a classic and an undeniable must-have book. I just had to have a newer, larger and easy to read copy by purchasing this later edition. I would go so far as to say "If a person that calls themselves a Christian and have not read this book -- that they only have a partial view of what the Christian faith is about. Read more
