Elections & Political Process
Review:This book is a must read for every American. If everyone read this they would call for Trumps impeachment. Luke Harding lays out the Russian scandal in detail. Each chapter explains who the players are, Page, Manafort, Flynn, Ross, and various Russians. The book also explains who exactly Christopher Steele is and pretty much verifies the dossier. Its easy to read and understand and I could not put it down. Its fascinating and horrifying at the same time. Thank you Mr. Harding for staying on ... Read more
Review:As a Trump supporter I followed the campaign closely, this book is an accurate step by step account of the Trump Campaign. The account moves quickly and there is never a dull moment. Lots of interesting facts and hilarious situations make this book an interesting read. Loved it!!! Read more
Review:Postman's book is a harsh diatribe against the television industry and its effects on intellectual discourse in the United States. Postman argues that television, especially when compared to the written word, cannot foster deep, rational thought in its viewers, because it requires absolute passivity from them. Television can only be about entertainment, and its cultural dominance, Postman argues, has had negative effects on education, politics, and religion.

Review:The focus of this work was the empathy gap between the urban and rural communities in America. Specifically, the premise was that the two sides of American culture didn't communicate with one another, and more important, did not understand the underlying values of each. Stated more directly, from the perspective of the author (a faculty member from Berkley), Americans from urban, academic, or at least highly educated communities do not understand why individuals from rural America vote against... Review:This is not an easy read, as it is a scholarly work with a lot of charts and tables, and considerable discussion of the statistical techniques and regression analyses that Lott used in arriving at the conclusions presented here. But I would categorize it as a "must-read" for anyone who has a serious interest in the gun control debate, and who is looking for facts - rather than emotion - upon which to form an opinion. Lott's conclusions are compelling and well supported. He also deals, in a st... Read more
Review:Rereading Hunter S. Thompson's speed & acid-addled account of the 1972 U.S. presidential campaign is a profoundly enlightening experience, especially in light of the creativity and innovation Thompson infused in his reinvention of political journalism that proved to be (and still is) way ahead of its time. Fear & Loathing 2016--simply substute Hillary R. Clinton for Richard M. Nixon (Thompson realized more forty years ago that "Democrat" and "Republican" were equivalent to "heads" or "t... Read more
Review:In my youth, I worked in John Kennedy's presidential campaign and Robert Kennedy's senatorial campaign. This book is written by someone who had real, inside connection to both brothers. His knowledge is also supported by professional study. He describes the real men, warts and all, not the icons. I recognize the men I knew. Nothing diminishes my respect for them. Read more
Review:Although this product was purchased as new, it came damaged with at least 100 pages with the tops of those pages ripped and unlined. It did not affect the writing in the book but still. It would be nice to have a book look like new and not like it had been through a wood-chopper. I will not purchase anything from this seller again. Read more
Review:This book was originally written in the mid-90s and this version has been updated with a Introduction and Afterward. What really surprised me is that Bernie Sanders has been saying the same thing and fighting for the same issues his whole life and his whole political career. This book really portrays Sanders' passion for creating a society that benefits everyone and truly convinces me that he genuinely cares about the middle class. It's a quick read, but a little heavy on the acknowledgements... Read more
