Review:A fabulous read, writer Ann Rule takes us from crime to resolution in a fast-paced story that is almost impossible to put down. If you enjoy non fiction crime stories, "Small Sacrifices" is the gold standard of this genre. It is definitely a must-read. Read more
Review:I loved this book. It's interesting, full of excitement and descriptions so you feel like you actually whitnessed the crimes. Very interesting book, hard to put it down type of book. Highly recommend. Read more
Review:Having lived this story / report I found this book as a very accurate record of the Tragicomedy this family lived. I worked in a KC hospital where Dr. Greene worked and knew her husband because we saw him as a cardiologist .and when he came to the place I worked. Debra Green should be kept locked up for ever. Review:I think she is a wonderful author-having read almost all of her work and disliking only one of her books.
She went into so much detail of Melinda life because hers was the most disturbing of the girls. If you understand psychology, then you will understand that a persons childhood and family is generally directly related to their personality and may define her future. She showed us that Melinda was deeply disturbed and although nobody can really explain why or how, by understanding where sh... Read more
Review:I was very pleased with this book, another of Ann Rule's excellent writings not only was the book a carbon copy of the movie but specific lines in the book were quoted from the movie word for word this is one of those books you just cant put done it took me only 3.2 days to read it cover to cover Read more
Review:Many of my favorite books were written by Ann Rule, but this entire book was a let down. My overall impression is that it was thrown together and Ms. Rule did not seem too excited to tell the story. This boring story was not memorable, satisfying, or interesting. Read more
Review:Ann Rule writes in her afterword to "Heart Full of Lies:"

So I had to struggle with my own preconceptions and prejudices as I began my research."
Rule performed the research in her usual meticulous, exhaustive style, guided by both the... Read more
Review:as always, ann's stories are thoroughly researched and very detailed without being dramatized and sensationalized. I love her "just the facts" stories that allow the reader to make their own minds up on whether they are mad, bad or otherwise. Read more
Review:This was a good book. I love depressing memoirs and this fit the bill for 80% of the book. I didn't really like that it gave a weird 1/2 foreshadowing at the very beginning then goes all the back so then you know exactly when her parents get deported so you're not really getting into the full shock of it all for her. It wasn't like everyone didn't know, it says it on the book jacket but you otherwise it would have been more in keeping with the trauma of the story. She works hard to achieve her d... Read more
Review:The book came in slightly damaged condition (only the paper covering of this hardcover) however none of that is really an issue for me.
The content within was basically a cliff note version of the predillictions and demis of many of hollywood actor/actress from the golden era. The photos make up the majorityt of this book which makes reading it much more exciting and interesting when you can put a face to the story behind the rise and fall of the subject in question.
The ship time is ... Read more
