The Story of the Woman Who Helped to Hide the Frank Family
The Story of the Woman Who Helped to Hide the Frank Family

Review:The book arrived promptly, used library book in fair condition. I was very satisfied with the detailed accounting that was offered from a friend that was
involved with the everyday life of the Frank family
from the time the Frank girls were very young until
their capture by the Germans. How could anyone possibly
deny this "horror" never happened? Read more

An Epic History of Two Nations Divided - A World on Fire
An Epic History of Two Nations Divided - A World on Fire

Review:The author has great, accessible prose, and that is her primary strength (that and good publicist and production team behind her). So the book is engaging and easy for the average reader to take and interest.

The history side of it all is fuzzier. As other reviewers have stated, this is a standard civil war history with a little bit more of Britain thrown in. No serious Civil War historian or enthusiast is going to find much new here, let alone big revelations, as it relies heavily on ... Read more

New York's Most Unusual Address - Life at the Dakota
New York's Most Unusual Address - Life at the Dakota

Review:An insightful story of a fascinating building! I actually worked with someone who grew up in the Dakota, so I was interested to gain a more detailed knowledge of the stories I'd heard. A fascinating subculture long before John Lenon lived there. Read more

Three Kingdoms: A Historical Novel
Three Kingdoms: A Historical Novel

Review:This is what I was promised: Condition: New
BRAND NEW,GOOD QUALITY AND FAST DELIVERY. ALL HAVE FREE TRACKING NUMBER WITH REGISTERED.

What I really get is a broken case, and two of the volumes are not in a good condition. Still the inside is good and the product is what I asked for.

So the books are apparently not new, or the delivery is of a very bad quality. Also I had some problems with the delivery at first, but the communication with the seller is really good, and he solved ... Read more

Fall and Return of the Nephilim (Volume 1) - The Rise
Fall and Return of the Nephilim (Volume 1) - The Rise

Review:This book had some interesting premises, but the writer appears to be no scholar. His grasp of the Hebrew seems to come from Strong's Concordance, and even after reading the whole chapter on his theory of the new Watchers and looking at his ideas of the Nephillim in scripture, I find his theories somewhat far-fetched. I did find some facts and Ideas to pursue, and that is why I give it the vaunted rating of OK.. The Nephillim are an ambitious study for anyone. Read more

THE DECLINE AND FALL OF THE ROMAN EMPIRE IN SIX VOLUMES (ILLUSTRATED)
THE DECLINE AND FALL OF THE ROMAN EMPIRE IN SIX VOLUMES (ILLUSTRATED)

Review:The book is a towering work and this audio version makes it easier to digest. The narrators style is appropriate but perhaps a little too fast as the text demands your attention - which is why I have only given it four stars, .The book itself deserves SIX stars. If you get distracted for a few moments, you can often find you have missed a key moment in the story. I have tried to slow it down on my iPhone, but the slowed version sounds like the narrator has suffered a partial stroke, and the voic... Read more

Kim Philby and the Great Betrayal - A Spy Among Friends
Kim Philby and the Great Betrayal - A Spy Among Friends

Review:I hesitated before buying this book because, after all, how much can be written about a specific subject? I was wrong. The author set out to present the subject in a different light, much more personal than the usual spy stories. He was totally successful in my estimation. There are many interesting details about all the main characters that I had not read before. In sum, he author makes Philby even more of a villain than I thought. Read more

The Monk of Mokha
The Monk of Mokha

Review:Fasten your seatbelt because once you start reading Dave Eggers’ book titled, The Monk of Mokha, you will not want to stop. Eggers introduces us to Mokhtar Alkhanshali, a young Yemeni American whose journey through life changes dramatically after he finds passion about coffee from Yemen. Mokhtar knew nothing about coffee from Yemen when he drifted into this passion, and once he learned all he could, he hustled and bargained and found every way possible to bring the fine coffee from Yemen to the ... and American Royalty in the Nation's Largest Home

Review:Extremely boring. I have been to Biltmore Estate, at least 20 times. It is one of my favorite places to go. Thought this book would give some
fascinating insight into the mansion and it's owners, instead it's just ramblings on the Biltmore forestry mission, it is one of the
dullest books, I have ever read. No stories of glittering soirees, or fascinating asides of the owners. Apparently George and Edith
were as exciting as milquetoast. I'm still forcing myself to read it, hopefully it w... Read more
