Review:Loved it. If you've read Wahoo and enjoyed it, this is a must.
Quite a technically described, blow by blow account. From boredom to drama in moments it describes just how this must have been.
Very brave young men. Read more
Review:There is no reason to doubt what this insider from the Bush administration includes in his book. However, McClellan shows a lot of idealism, which does not fit with politics, not only in Washington, but everywhere else in the world. So he thinks George Bush's campaign for president in 2000 carried slogans similar to those raised by Democratic Presidential Candidate Barrack Obama? Is this a joke?
McClellan argues that Bush was a candidate with a lot of idealism that the two of them could have ... Read more
Review:It was a very touching book it made me realize how lucky I am. I kept on thinking to myself why couldn't they have left her alone she wasn't responsible for her background. I feel so sorry that she didn't get to grow up like a normal child. I wish her childhood hadn't been ruined by Chairman Mae. I really enjoyed the book because it let you know what happened while your parents were younger and how children got brutilized when they hadn't done anything wrong. I really feel sorry for Jiang... Review:Very thought provoking. Enjoyed the homogenization of several areas of science and history and mythology into a cohesive story. Great follow up upon Fingerprints and other books in his series devoted to this topic. Read more
Review:Under the Tuscan Sun is a wonderful and humorous look at what happens when an American couple decides to purchase and convert an ancient pile of stone rooms into a home in the Italian countryside. The book reveals how cultural differences and the elements can conspire to slow the progress of even the most diligent expatriate. Mayes shows us with love and humor what it took for her to finish her project, while she falls deeply in-love with her new land.
The book is a joy to read. I heartily... Read more
Review:This is a documentary and is not an action-packed, edge-of-your-seat, war story for the reader. This story contains lots of history and politics concerning the Afghanistan conflict. Lots of garrison life. Read more
Review:I have read "WALK IN THE WOODS" twice. I find him refreshingly funny and witty, have not read one of his books that I haven't enjoyed. Hope to find others available on Kindle to read. Everyone should read at least 1 Bill Bryson book!! Read more
Review:Bill Bryson's latest book is the story of the founding of the Royal Society of London, a unique group if there ever was one. Founded in 1660, it has done more to advance science than any other institution in the world including all the great English universities, including the great German institutions of the late 19th and early 20th centuries where so much applied science was achieved, and including our finest schools in the early part of this century.

Review:After having recently read INTO THIN AIR, I am now drawn into the survival genre. Ms. Niven's account of the KARLUK tragedy chronicles the explorer Stefansson's ill-fated expedition and the overwhelming obstacles the survivors faced in the desolate and inhospitable Artic. Not only do the passengers aboard the ship have to face the elements, starvation, and disease, but they are pitted against each other as well. The mix of characters includes ne'er-do-wells, drug addicts, pathological liars, a... Read more
Review:Thank you Oscar Wilde!! I loved reading this book while waiting in line for the Toronto Film Festival movies to start..... I have so many nuggets from my recent indulgence of Oscar Wilde's witty, fun, original, and rhythmical play, "The Importance of Being Earnest".
Every phrase and expression is a thought worth enjoying and applying to our life today. The play on words, the glittering conversation, the unexpected turn of phrases, it's deliciously clever and a classic it remains forever. ... Read more
