The Story of America's Elite Counterterrorist Unit
The Story of America's Elite Counterterrorist Unit

Review:A great book and very well written.

Haney took alot of heat for doing so but that's to be expected.

My only confusion came about when Haney described hunting down and killing a former U.S. Special Forces sergeant named Baez in Honduras.

Baez was actually captured alive during the battle of Yolo Valley and taken to a small Honduran airstrip where his capture was reported. Nicaraguan by birth Baez returned to Nicaragua after serving in the U.S. Army. He joined the Sandinista... Read more

The Borgias: The Hidden History
The Borgias: The Hidden History

Review:Holds up, and is equal to, First Season - Series 1. It does almost always hold my interest. Four stars because some of the actors are a bit over the top. The production is indeed lavish and mostly adheres to the actual history of the period, both pictorial and personal, Read more

Everything You Need to Ace American History in One Big Fat Notebook
Everything You Need to Ace American History in One Big Fat Notebook

Review:Every home schooler or public school should have this resource. Great for teaching and reviewing the core ideas. Whether you use it a curriculum or extra help, these books are great for middle-schoolers and their parents who have probably forgotten a lot since they graduated.
The layout is both fun and engaging as well as draws your eyes to prime ideas and concepts. Read more

1929-1945 (Oxford History of the United States) - The American People in Depression and War
1929-1945 (Oxford History of the United States) - The American People in Depression and War

Review:Here's a review in process: I'm about 1/3-thru this book, and have found it to be almost entirely broad narrative of the Hoover presidency & American population trends. Gets pretty tedious. I'm hoping the author at some point relates individual experiences thru firsthand accounts, specific stories and vivid description of American lives that allow the reader to see, feel, taste what it was really like to live in this time period. Will update this review with hopefully more positive thing... Read more

History of the United States
History of the United States

Review:This provided most of the information I was looking for, although a bit right wing, "America is best" at times. Next time I go through it I need to have an atlas by my side! A couple of references to things I was unsure about (eg someone's act of treason) without further illucidation. Great to include the constitution, and a clever idea to stop it at 1920. It certainly helps me getter a better understanding of American culture. Read more

An Indigenous Peoples' History of the United States (ReVisioning American History)
An Indigenous Peoples' History of the United States (ReVisioning American History)

Review:Very detailed, fact oriented accusatory book. Shows only how misinforming and truth bending government is. Indigenous people were mistreated, exterminated and perhaps still being misunderstood. Was it inevitable? In a way, it was due to greed, ideology and cruelty. It shouldn't have happened though. My best respect to author! Read more

Columbus to the War on Terror (For Young People Series)
Columbus to the War on Terror (For Young People Series)

Review:This is an excellent book for kids. If it were to be required reading (which it NEVER will), we would probably have a second American Revolution.

In school, kids are told a pack of lies about America in order to convince them to keep their heads bowed and do what their corporate masters tell them. Kids are slathered in nationalistic crap and primed to go off and die fighting in immoral and unnecessary wars of aggression.

Pull your kid of the lie machine and have him read this ins... Read more

Bill O'Reilly's Legends and Lies: The Civil War
Bill O'Reilly's Legends and Lies: The Civil War

Review:I have loved all of the "Legend and Lies" books and was anxiously waiting for this one to be released. This book was of special interest to me because I am writing a book, a historical fiction based on a personal history of my great grandfather who served the Confederacy during the Civil War. I loved the book. It is engaging, honest and an eye-opener. Even if you've read a ton of books on the Civil War as I have, don't discount this one. You will love it. It stands out against many others ... Read more
